Chapter 18

Ji-Yong's POV

BOOM!

"(Y/N)!" I shouted. I couldn't believe it. (Y/N)'s dead. Because of me. I didn't protect him. Yuna was bawling her eyes out while kneeling on the ground. I ran to (Y/N)'s car after pulling out a fire extinguisher from my car to try and put the fire out. The small fire extinguisher did nothing as the fire continued to grow bigger.

Timeskip

The firefighters arrived too late as the car was already burnt down to the ground. (Y/N)'s body was not found in the wreckage. They speculated that (Y/N)'s corpse had been consumed by the fire.

3rd POV

Mina dialed Ji-Yong's number to ask him what's going on.

Beep beep

Beep bee-

"Hello? Oppa. Are you and (Y/N) okay?" Mina asked "I, uhh, I-" "What's wrong oppa? Why are you stuttering? Is everything okay?" Mina asked once again. "(Y- (Y/N)'s gone." Ji-Yong struggled to let out. Mina was speechless. She didn't expect this to happen. "Are you being serious right now?" Mina was not believing Ji-Yong.

"Y-Yes I am." Mina dropped her phone to the ground. Sana and Tzuyu were dumbfounded as to why Mina dropped her phone. As if everything was planned, the TV showed a put out fire of a wreck in the middle of Gwangju. They noticed that Ji-Yong and Yuna were nearby. Crying. Devastated. They could see their actions. They were shocked when it got to them. It was (Y/N). It was his car. That burned down.

Sana's POV

"No." Was all that I could let out from my mouth before tearing up together with Tzuyu. Our childhood friend, had died.

Timeskip

3rd POV

"Good Afternoon. My name is Ji-Yong and (Y/N) was my loyal friend, my confidant, my protégé for 15 years. He was more like my younger brother. We had many experiences..." A graveyard at a mountainy area was where the funeral of (Y/N) was going on with Ji-Yong giving a eulogy. The clouds were crying along with (Y/N)'s acquaintance. Everyone was wearing all black to respect the passing of
(Y/N).

As a few minutes went by, Ji-Yong had finished his speech with a saddened face. Mina went to comfort him but something had disturbed Ji-Yong's feelings. He suddenly felt anger amidst the sad feelings he had. What caused the anger in him was Soo-Ro's appearance at the graveyard. When he was spotted, a grin crept up Soo-Ro's face before driving away from there.

Ji-Yong wanted to chase him down but was stopped by the investigators he hired. "Where are you going?" One of them asked. "To settle something." He said before continuing his walk to his car. Once he got in, he immediately went the direction Soo-Ro headed. Luckily for him, Soo-Ro was stuck at a stop sign at a busy road.

But immediately sped off ignoring the other motorists after seeing Ji-Yong pulling up behind him. They were in a chase on a mountain road which had a lot of sharp blind turns. But tragedy struck when Ji-Yong had been brake checked by Soo-Ro. This caused him to rear end Soo-Ro and completely stop with a ton of damage done to his front end while Soo-Ro had the momentum to move on.

He was devastated that he couldn't catch the one that has caused all of this.

Timeskip 2 Years

The departure of (Y/N) has taken a toll on everybody's life including Sana's family. Ji-Yong was still trying to get a hold of Soo-Ro even after two years despite the efforts. But recently, strange events have been happening these past few days.

Tzuyu's POV

It's been grim this last two years. The passing of (Y/N) did a number on me including Sana and Yuna. Sana has been extremely quiet and depressed after the news of (Y/N)'s death broke out. She keeps thinking that if she was there, he could still be alive.

While Yuna, she's been dispirited even in the sport events that she excels in. Everything hasn't been the same. Word got to the principal that (Y/N) was an illegal street racer while being underage which didn't make him happy about it.

We have all graduated from high school including Yuna. We decided to hold a get together that night to remember (Y/N) at Sana's home.

Ji-Yong's POV

I was now sitting in my office to figure what would be the next step to finding Soo-Ro. I was so stressed out that I decided to relax by turning the TV on. I was scrolling through the channels when the news broadcast caught my eye. It was showing a forensics team gathered together with the police and the medic in front of a house that I recognize. It was Soo-Ro's other house. I looked at the headline to know what it was all about.

"Entrepreneur, Kim Soo-Ro, has been found stabbed to death atleast 20 times in his residence."

I was stunned at what I just read.

'What's happening?'
