chapter 15

"MOMMM......DONT LEAVE ME PLEASE. ..COME BACK...MOMM"
She started shouting and crying. .

"Kashi?? Kashi beta..wake up..I'm with you...kashi wake up..look your mom dad are here with you" her parents said and she opened her eyes...she was crying. ..
"MOM....she was here...I saw her..."

"Relax kashaf ...you were dreaming. ..have this water first"
She drank water and held her head with her hands.

"I had a nightmare mom...I saw my mother...she was leaving me...she left me in this world years ago...and now left me alone in my dream world too"

"Kashi...look your mom dad both are here with you..don't worry"
He was about to pat her when she turned her face to the other side
"It's all because of you dad!"
She said in a low tone

"Saira. You sleep here and make her sleep. Take care of her. Good night." Her dad left the room and kashaf hugged her mother. She made her sleep.

*in the morning*

"Saira I'm thinking of getting kashi married"

"WHAT??" saira was shocked as this was unexpected.

"Yes. You heard it right. We will get her married as soon as possible"

"This can't be the solution hayat. This will be so unfair."

"Are we left with any other choice? NO! GOD knows what she was doing all that time behind our back in islamabad. Didn't you see she came early morning with a boy? Didn't you see how she was unable to justify herself?"

"We can't doubt her like this. She didn't do anything. In fact she can never! We will talk to her first"

"There's nothing left to talk saira"

"But hayat this is unfair. She's our only child."

"If she wants to leave this village, she will have to get married first! And then she can leave with her husband. This is the only solution left."

"I don't agree with you. We can't ruin her life. We can't force her for marriage"

"Its for her betterment! You agree or not, I really don't care saira!"

"Hayat please dont be so harsh"

"My decision won't change! I'll do what I said. You better make her mentally prepared for the news! I am going to meet few friends. .soon we'll be inviting kashi's inlaws-to-be! And yes, don't tell mom anything yet."
He left saira shocked with his words and went out.

Days passed by. Uzair would stay out till late night. He would wait outside kashaf's apartment with a hope that she'll meet him someday. He would pay watchman money  for keeping eye on kashaf's apartment and let him know if he finds any one around that apartment.
He wasn't able to focus on his projects. He was never like this... since the day kashaf left, he has been dreaming about her. Seeing her in dreams, her smile, her deep eyes, her voice, and then her sufferings, which would turn his beautiful dreams into nightmares.
He would think about her day and night...thinking how she would be. What would have happened to her. What would she have told her parents. Would they believe her. All these questions destroyed his mental peace. Especially the thought of kashaf's last words she said to him...when he was trying to save her from her father. He sometimes think its all because of him. He wanted to help her. He wanted to save her. He couldn't see her like that. He was falling for her. She was unique....rare....someone so special to him. He never wanted to lose her neither hurt her..but she was hurt in the end...

She never loved him...but she did like him since the day he saved her from that man. She used to hate him at first but all her hatred vanished since the day she found him by her side when she was helpless when she actually needed help. That day turned their life upside down. She started liking him...she would feel safe with him. Liking someone is not a sin, its not prohibited, everyone has the right to like or love someone, our religion has given us this right.
She never did something of which her parents would be get ashamed of her. She always stayed in her limits. She always did whatever her parents asked her to do. She knew leaving islamabad will ruin her dreams, her life.. but what else she could do.
She was feeling like she had done something wrong just because of her parents behaviour. They are not ready to listen what really happened. They believed the story they made after seeing uzair there. Her mother has always helped her. She has always protected her and always been by her side. ..but this time, even she was helpless because deep down in her mind...the thought of uzair would make her doubt kashaf. She wasn't really showing what's inside her..she still loves her.. but she's waiting for the time kashaf will share about that guy. She wants to make sure her child did nothing wrong.

Kashaf's nightmares were a routine now. She couldn't figure out how to deal with her parents how to convince them...because she was badly in need of leaving this place. Many things are associated with the village, many bad memories.... which became her nightmares now.

Uzair, on the other hand, was living with a burden of being responsible for problems in kashaf's life. His grandfather tried many times to ask what's wrong but he would stay silent.
Then a night came...when he was sleeping and he saw kashaf in his dreams...asking him to help her as she's in so much pain and alone. He took his car keys and was about to leave when grandfather stopped him and asked about the matter.
He insisted, uzair, not able to hide it more, started telling him everything about how they met, their hatred, office, then rape attempt and uzair saving her, hospital, taking her to his mansion, about the phone, about her parents arrival and her dad being voilent and how he couldn't bear all that so he interfered which created a big problem for kashaf, her last words and how she left. And about his dreams too.

Grandfather promised him that he'll figure out everything about her and she'll come back to him. He further promised that he'll get him married to kashaf. Hearing this he got a bit shocked but then hugged his grandfather and then got so much relieved as he knows very well about his grandfather's connections and that he will fulfill his promise no matter how hard it is.
Then they shifted back to their mansion.

*****
*week later*

*In Islamabad*

"Mr khan.. we got news about the women"

"okay good..details?"

"She was seen in a small town near Peshawar. She took a ride on bus to some village nearby. She had her belongings with her."

"Which village?"

"Sorry sir.. I couldn't find out that. .but I will find soon. The same bus will arrive today in the evening. I'll find out and inform you"

"Make sure you do! Or else you know what I'll do..."

"Yes sir...dont worry..I'll not disappoint you this time"

The call ends.

Thank God atleast I got to know something about her.
Let me call uzair. Where this boy is. He has not returned back home yet. I hope he's not into trouble. He always pick my call no matter how busy he is. I hope he is fine...

"Granddad"

"Umar?? When did you come?? I missed you my son"
Grandfather was shocked to see umar back as he didn't inform anyone about returning back to Pakistan. They both hugged each other.

"I missed you so much"

"I missed you too my son"

"Umar,, what a surprise...come give me a hug, I missed you dear" uzair came in and to his surprise umar was there.

"I missed you too bhai"

"How was the project"

"It went well bhai..finally I'm free now.."

"Ahan....my dear brother....we have a branch in nowshehra... and I have appointed you there as a senior office... from now on you'll be working there. .."

"But bhai....that's so unfair. I just came and now another task...I need a long break of 1 a month" he made a puppy face and both uzair and grandfather laughed at how he's still childish...they know they've pampered him alot.

"You are going there after 3 days. I have arranged everything.  Now go and freshen up. We'll have dinner together"
Umar left to his room and uzair told his grandfather that he will be to karachi for a project this week.

Grandfather was relieved finding uzair in a better state. Finding him working in the office again just like before, with passion. He knew how just a single promise made him feel relieved. He was happy both his grandsons would be working and he'll get a chance to move out of the house to fulfil his promise and to see his grandchildren happy. It wasn't possible in the presence of uzair as he doesn't let him go out alone thinking that something might happen to his grandfather and he may lose him forever.
