3rd POV
"Yes. Woah! GO!"
Shawn was the only one making loud noises even though most people were drunk. Music played in the background and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves just fine in the company of alcohol.
Ariana made her way to him. Ghosting her for three days had been enough. More than enough. They were supposed to meet every day and hang out, however, after the kiss things changed.
She hadn't expected him to react like this at all. At the end of the day it was just a kiss. A very humble kiss. It wasn't like their lips fit so perfectly wrong together. It wasn't like they melted her soul with just a touch.
It wasn't like she wanted more.
"Hey, bro. Your friend is here."
It stung a bit. Ariana hadn't felt like this before. She made her way to the Canadian, high heels clicking with each step.
For a party in winter, it was pretty expensive and unusually heated. She chose a black dress that hugged her petite body wonderfully.
Not that Shawn would paid any attention to that detail.
"I think you've had enough of this, lolz." She said.
It was awkward. It was incredibly awkward. Even with all the music and the people around, Ariana felt misplaced. Shawn close by wasn't helping.
"I'm fine." His voice was low, eyes looking away.
"Let's go."
She grabbed his arm in an attempt to pull him away. It woke up something. A tingling feeling, her fingers curled around the arm burned a bit. It had never occured to her how unnerving and unsettling physical contact could be.
Shawn raised an eyebrow at her. Her hand didn't pull, just stood there, locked between thoughts and time. His eyes shone with a tint of challenge.
"I think you should go." He said.
"You're getting kinda wasted. I think I should stay." She shot him a stern look. Her voice, on the other hand, betrayed her.
"You shouldn't be around me."
What was that supposed to mean?
She nearly laughed at him. Pathetic. This sounded like some high school bad boy line. Perhaps Hardin wasn't the most mysterious man in town.
Their eyes locked and a furious look took her breath away. The blazing red lights added a mixture of sensuality to his figure. All black and hazy and just inches away.
"Why is that? You're afraid you'll kiss me?!"
Why did it come out so shaky? Why did it effect her so much?
