Chapter 11

Kaito's POV:

Throughout the day, Shinichi has been acting weird. His face would turn completely red every now and then. Whenever he speaks, he stutters, at least when I am around. There are times when he would avoid eye contact. What makes this uncomfortable is that he would flinch every time I move; it might be a reaction due to me being Kid, but he's well aware of that and we do live together. What could this mean...

"Hey Shin-" I look around to see no Shinichi around.

Ren's POV:

Every now and then, I would be seeing Kuroba and Kudou around the school. But compared to how they acted previously, they seem to be more shy to each other. Even with the whole "marriage" ordeal from back then, this is completely different (even though the husband part did threw me off). Back then, they were more of homiesexual than actual lovers, maybe even further apart. Now, they seem to be closer to each other. Should I tell Futaba this?

The last few days were tiring. Akechi actually brought up evidence that we are the phantom thieves (Although Haru wasn't in the photo, it's obvious with the group she hangs out with) in the middle of the festival. Then, Sojiro found out about the Phantom thieves and we did a group meeting after that day. And now today, Akechi want to take part in the whole "thieving" thing and gave us a request. That is a lot of relieving.

But, it's an interesting idea to go into the territory of a similar field, especially with someone on the side of "justice". Sae Nijima, Makoto's older sister, Akechi's colleague in the phantom thieves case, and the heart of who Akechi want us to seal. With Makoto's testimony with Sae having a palace and her approval, this is going to be an interesting one.

While prepping up for the palace, I grab my phone, wanting to call them, but I don't have their contract. I was about to walk down the stairs when Morgana stop me.

"What are you doing this late?" He walk and sit where the stairs are at. He is looking at me with determination and wariness.

"I want to ask them if they want to join. I don't have their contract, but they do live nearby."

"You do know that this operation will not only be the turning point for us, but this will be hard for them to get out of."

"..."

"Ren..."

"... I know what you're talking about, but I don't think they should be left in the dark. They're not our friends, but they're not our enemies."

I walk over Morgana, down the stairs, and out of Leblanc. Following locator on the maps app, it is surprisingly very near to Leblanc -scratch that- very near to the Sakura residence. I reach to an apartment building with a staircase on the side of the building. After texting Futaba which room they reside in, I walk up towards apartment 204. He was about to knock on the door when the door opens itself.

"Anything else that we..." Kuroba is the one that opened the door and is staring at me. "Anything else that we need Shin-chan!"

"For the love of god don't call me that! Oh, and get shampoo and body wash! The bottles are almost empty!" Kudou yells, but is nowhere in sight

"'Mkay, and be nice to the guest!" Kuroba walks out and smiles at me. "You can go inside."

I was taking off my shoes when Kuroba closes the door behind me. Looking inside, there isn't much to it. The kitchen is small, with only a sink, a refrigerator, and some counter space. Up ahead is only a sofa and a table across from it as well as a coffee table with a lamp next to the sofa. Coming from the hallway next to the refrigerator is Kudou, who was about to say something.

"Sorry for this interruption..." I whisper and grab a pair of slippers from the shoe shelf.

"Welcome and sit down. Do you want some water?"

"Ah, yes please." I head straight to the sofa and sit down, but it isn't very lax as I hoped it would had gone.

"You wanna talk?"

I nod.

Kudou walk back with a glass of water in his hands and place it on the table in front of me.

"Are... you dating Kuroba?"

"W-what?! Date that player?! Why would I..."

"But you're red."

"..."

"You like him don't you."

"..."

The door open up with Kuroba carrying groceries. He look at us, mainly at how red Kudou is, and walk off by putting whatever he brought away.

Before he leaves the room, I stand up to walk to him to clarify, "I came to talk to you too Kuroba and not just Kudou."

Kuroba, who is done putting parts of the groceries in the kitchen, pause in front of the hallway, but doesn't look back at me. "Is that so..." He then continue to put away the things he bought. "Just let me put these away, then we can talk."

Kaito's POV:

After putting away the things, I pull up a stool from the kitchen and sit near to them. Shinichi is no longer red as Ren sits next to him, but tense. I remember entering the apartment and see not only Ren about to say something, but a really blushy Shinichi. What exactly made him like that?

Ren clears his throat loudly, cutting the tension in the air. "I'll get straight to the point."

Dang this felt like this had nothing in it. I think cliffhangers are alright, right?
