Chapter 2 What Happened?

{warning: SMOKINGS BAD DON'T DO DRUGS! MONDO'S A BIG DUMB STUPID BITCH SO HE SMOKES.}

Mondo snuck out from behind where he was hiding and pretended to be idly strolling along. Ishimaru had his head in his knees so he could only hear the noises of Mondo's boots on the sidewalk. He heard someone sit by him a lighter noise going off. Ishimaru put his head up and looked at the person beside him.

"Hey..." Mondo said lighting a cigarette that was sticking out of his mouth.

"... M-Mondo?!" Ishimaru looked at Mondo shocked he was there.

Mondo blew out a puff of smoke. "Yup. So what in the hell was that?"

Ishimaru's eyes widened "Y-You saw?"

Mondo nodded "Do you wanna talk about it?"

Ishimaru stayed silent and burried his head back into his knees. "Stop smoking its bad for you" He muttered a bit of the words getting lost in his knees.

"It's also bad to let someone beat you up everyday too you know."

"Smokings worse idiot." Ishimaru leaned his head to the side on his knees the look at Mondo. He had never seen Mondo this nice before. Mondo's eyes reflected a muted sadness.

"So. Why'd you let them do that? You could have easily stopped them." Mondo inhaled on the cigarete smoke spinning around his face. obscurring him from view for a moment

"I won't harm someone else ever. Even if they deserved it."

Mondo sighed "I don't know how you do it Moral Compass." He ruffled Ishimaru's hair lightly

Ishimaru had a few tears still streaming down his face. He was trying very hard to pretend like he wasn't crying, but it wasn't working."

Mondo remembered when he was a kid and he would cry in front of his mom. His impulse took over and even though it was a bit awkward he forced Ishimaru's head onto his lap. Letting him lay down.

"M-Mondo?! What are you-" Ishimaru looked up his head still on Mondo's lap

"Shh. My mom used to do this with me when i was upset." He pet the tangle of black hair in front of him. Trying his best to calm the boy down.

Ishimaru blushed heavily but relaxed into the touch. Ishimaru cuddled up closer to Mondo feeling his warmpth.

If anybody saw us right now we'd be labeled as a couple for sure. Would i want that? Mondo felt Ishimaru cuddle closer to him. He was honestly like a cat in a way. A smile escaped from Mondo's lips, and happiness filled his eyes. Someone cleared their throat around them and Ishimaru jumped up banging his head on Mondo's

They both groaned at the pain, and Ishimaru looked up at the person standing in front of them

"PRINCIPLE KIRIGIRI?!" Ishimaru stood up dusting off the dust on his uniform. He bowed profusely "I'm so sorry we're here so much later than what is allowed!"

"Its...fine." Principle Kirigiri eyed Mondo suspiciously. "I just wanted to give you some files for the student council you left in my office, but when i went to your dorm you weren't there. I thought you might have studied too hard and fallen asleep in school again."

Mondo stood up still in a daze from the relaxing feeling of Ishimaru in his lap.

"I am still so very sorry Mister Krigiri! I will finish that paperwork right away!"

"N-No! You don't have to! It's late you need to not worry so much about work. Uhm... But what were you both doing out here?"

Mondo went to speak but Ishimaru interrupted him "I just fell and Mondo was helping me up. S-Sorry for worrying you!"
