Ryuu grew up in a small family, and like Uraraka, he had trouble with financial problems. His older brother and sister were working small time jobs but money was sparse. Wanting to help them out, he vowed to become a hero and then his family'd be richer than they were before, so much richer! Then they'd never have to worry about money again.
