The sun was slowly fading away behind intense clouds. The white painted room darkened; Sua let a sigh slip. She was looking at her socials without blinking. She stopped her scrolling on an Instagram post and pressed the screen twice to like it. A red heart appeared briefly before her eyes. A smile took shape on her face. The brown-haired girl put her red phone aside for a minute and jumped on the anthracite couch to stretch out. She let her arms drawing figures in the air. Her fingers were now mimicking animals. The moment she closed her eyes, the door opened.
Sua didn't bother to look at the person entering the room. She was focused on her breathing, she was trying to find a peaceful and calm balance within herself. She recently had a lack of sleep and felt like it was showing in her every move for the past week. If she could just take some time for herself and nap regularly, maybe she would not be feeling as drained as she was?
The 20-year-old woman heard what seemed like the moving of heavy objects. Indeed, a second charcoal grey sofa in the room was finding its place at a right angle to the one couch she was slowly falling asleep on. The young woman could envision perfectly the L-shape that it had formed. This could only mean one thing for sure.
"수아 언니!"
tr: Sua unnie! As expected, she immediately recognized the playful voice that was shouting at her.
"시연아!" She replied as loudly while sitting up straight again.
tr: Siyeon-ah!Lee Siyeon was always craving empty sits in the corner of furniture. She just loved it. Sua knew it already. The older one let her friend find herself a comfortable spot, and naturally put back her body in a lying position, the head on Siyeon's thighs.
Siyeon started to check her phone, covering the depiction of Sua resting before her. She could feel the warmth of her breath caressing the extremity of her hands. The younger woman found their harmony very reassuring. Silence was never a part of their routine as a pair but this instant unfolding nicely became just as precious as the usual sweet disorder they loved throwing themselves into.
Sua was only making herself seem composed and quiet. It was all a façade. Since Siyeon had entered the room, she had regained her positive and loud energy. The playfulness of the black-haired girl had always been contagious. She compared her presence to oxygen molecules; you desperately gasped for them even before noticing it was vital for your survival.
Yes, Lee Siyeon held that kind of power over Kim Sua.
"시연아!"
tr: Siyeon-ah!Sua was observing closely the fingers above her head. They looked like porcelain; unwavering, attached to the back of Siyeon's phone case. They were long, longer than the size of her head from the chin to the forehead, Sua believed.
The view was peculiar from the ground. She had forgotten the feeling.
"수아 언니!"
tr: Sua unnie! The answer received was just as loud. Not even thirty seconds had passed. It was as if Siyeon had put herself in automatic pilot mode. Crying out their names had become an institutionalized ritual between them. Sua appeared to be satisfied, her eyes twinkled. She let out a short puff through her nasal cavities.
"시연아!"
tr: Siyeon-ah!They could go a long way like this.
"수아 언니이이!"
tr: Sua unniiie! The other one replied with the same liveliness, lengthening the last syllable's duration. Siyeon didn't have to look at Sua to know that she was smiling brightly. Her vocal sound had changed already. She could decipher any expression by listening to the colors in her voice.
