Lucy's POV

I woke up with a dry mouth. I looked up to see it was still pitch black outside. Hmmm, it must be at least 2am, I thought. I carefully got up, as not to disturb Plue, and searched for a nearby creek. I swear that Plue and I passed by one earlier when looking for a place to set up camp. As I made my way through the brush and branches I heard the sound of flowing water. Aha! The creek must be just up ahead. I continued my way through the woods and finally spotted the creek.

Fireflies surrounded the creek with their soft glow. I giggled as one landed on the back of my hand and soon flew back into the air. The scene was beautiful. The sound of frogs croaking in the night, and crickets playing their song flowed through the air all brought perfectly together with the sound of the creek.

I kneeled down beside the creek, cupping my hands and dipping them in the cool water. The water was nice and refreshing and I let out a quiet moan of delight now that my mouth wasn't a sand pit anymore. As I was about to stand up I heard a branch snap from across the creek. I quickly looked up, my eyes on full alert. The noise came from some bushes and I tried to focus but it was hard to see through the dark. The crickets and frogs stopped their music and all became quiet. The bush began to shake with movement and I thought I saw...

Eyes. Glowing, yellow eyes. They were gone as fast as they came. I swiftly stood up and held one of my keys in front of me in defense. I glanced at the key I was holding and saw it was Leo's. "W-who's there? Come out now!" I shouted, nervousness clear in my voice. I heard a quiet growl as I slowly took a few steps back. Just as I was about to shout again the creature scurried off back into the woods.

I sighed in relief and set my key back in its holder. I made my way back to camp and settled down next to Plue. My thoughts kept replaying the scene I just witnessed but no matter what I did I couldn't get those eyes out of my mind. It's like they pierced into my soul, paralyzing my body. I tried to get my body to relax but sleep didn't seem to come as easily as it had before. I just stared at the stars that covered the sky thinking about how captivating those eyes were.

When I woke up my body was sore from my stiff posture throughout the night. I rubbed my shoulders and groaned as I sat up. I looked down at Plue, who was still asleep, and carefully shook him awake. "Morning Plue, how about I make breakfast and you tear camp down. Then we can leave this place to go on a new adventure. What do you think?" I said cheerfully. Plue pumped his fist in the air and gave a little noise of agreement.

I got to work making some scrambled egg sandwiches for the both of us. As soon as I was done Plue finished tearing down camp and sat beside the fire as I served breakfast. We both sat in a peaceful silence eating our meal. After I was done I looked into our money pouch and sighed when I noticed we didn't have much left from yesterday's errands.

"Well, looks like we're gonna need to go on a job soon before we continue with our adventures." I said looking at Plue in disappointment. "Let's go to a nearby guild and see if they have any jobs we can handle on their request boards." I suggested and packed up the rest of our stuff before setting out the fire.

"Before we go, I'm gonna head to the creek and get some more water for our journey." I said gathering my canteen and heading towards the river.

As I headed towards the river that uneasy feeling of being watched came back to me. I shook it off, remembering that I'll be out of the woods soon anyway. When I reached the creek I quickly dipped my canteen in the river watching as it filled with water.

I couldn't help but lift my eyes staring at the bush that I saw last night. I couldn't help but be curious about the creature that had stalked me. A part of me wanted to figure out what it was, but another wanted to leave this place as quickly as possible.

As soon as the canteen was full I popped it shut and made my way back to camp, giving one last glance at the bush. Once I spotted Plue we made our way into town. The nearest guild was called Fairy Tail. "Well guess we're heading there." I mumbled to Plue as we followed along the path.
