"What field can completely eradicate a satellite program?" I asked myself.
"Auto-pilot activated" I heard the main computer announced.
"What is that?" Carlos asked curiously.
I turned to him. He was pointing something outside the ship. We all approached him and looked at what he was referring to. A green glittery smoke-like cloud are swirling everywhere.
"What kind of gases are these? Unionized oxygen?" Rixie asked.
Luke started taking pictures of it. "This is what we call the aesthetic of space", he said while checking every picture he take.
I narrowed my eyes as Inoticed something at the thickest and biggest green clouds. "Looks like there's something behind that group of cloud, let's check that thickest one".
"You mean, we're going inside it?" Rixie asked.
"Yup", I answered.
Luke deactivated the auto-pilot and he drove the spaceship to the thickest cloud. "If I die just remember, I don't like pineapple in my pizza", he added using his Italian accent again.
Jazz and Rixie just chuckled at Luke's address.
To our surprise, as we passed the glittery green thick cloud, a same Earth-size planet came to our view.
"A green planet?" Carlos said.
"Let's check it out," Jazz jumped excitedly.
"Is the surface even solid?" Rixie wondered.
"There's one way to find out!" Luke smirked.
"Send the rover!" Carlos announced in celebration like voice.
After a few minutes, the rover successfully landed.
"Scanning the atmosphere and soil properties", Jazz stated as she pressed enter on her computer.
After a few minutes, our jaw dropped from the results.
"Earth?" Rixie muttered. "I mean.. no it isn't but why is that... I--uh--I mean, these informations and analysis are just the same as Earth's".
Jazz repeated the analysis but it yielded the same results. "Man, this is crazy".
"Wait.. Look at this, how is this even possible?" I stated in disbelief as I read the atmospheric analysis of our spacecraft on the planet kilometers away from us.
"Why? What?" Jazz asked in curiosity.
Rixie, Luke and Carlos also attentively listened.
"It said here that the top of the mountain over there has zero gravity, but after a few feet below from the top the value went up, till it reaches the surface which has 9.8 m/s²", I explained.
"Inverse relationship, huh?" Luke stated.
Luke and Carlos stared at each other and they grin evilly. Few hours later, we found ourselves outside the ship, dragged by Luke and Carlos.
Luke took pictures of every single thing while Rixie started vlogging every steps she takes.
"Hey guys look, footprints!" Rixie pointed out. "Let's follow it", she added.
"Hey guys, this is where the side characters died at a horror movie, when they follow the footprints", Jazz laughed awkwardly.
"Come on, we're not in a movie. Plus, there's nothing dangerous-looking thing here", Carlos replied.
"If you die, I'll laugh", Jazz spatted.
We all agreed to follow the footprints and it led us to a ruined spaceship.
"A-E-C-I-E-44", Luke read the label as he dusted off the door of the ruined spaceship.
"A-E-what!?" I exclaimed.
"A-E-C-I-E-44", Luke repeated.
I immediately ran to check the label.
"Why? Is there something wrong?" Carlos asked as he took a picture of the label.
"It's Haleman's ship", I answered.
There was a long silence between us, we all just stared at each other.
A few seconds later, Jazz broke the silence, "Wait.. Did we just found the planet DYDX?"
"I think so," I said.
"Hey, guys.. you have to check this out", Rixie stated.
We went and approached Rixie, as we looked down, our eyes landed on the sight of five more ruined spaceships.
"These are the ones that were sent after Haleman", Rixie stated. "I memorized all the spacecraft tags and they all match", she added.
"That's why they can't go home because their spaceships are ruined" Rixie said.
"Do you think they're dead? The owners of these spaceships?" Luke asked as he continued taking pictures.
"Probably, I mean.. the expedition food won't last them 14 years", I replied.
"The most strange thing is, where in the fucking universe did the oxygen here came from? Like bruh what the fuck? There's not a single tree here, not even a crabgrass", Carlos questioned. "These are all green sand or rocks whatsoever", he added.
"Let's go back to the ship," I said after stuffing the rock and sand samples in my collection belt bag, feeling uneasy of our discoveries.
The four agreed with me and we turned our backs. We started to head back to the ship when suddenly the big stones turned into a human-like being.
"Wow!" they stated in awe.
"Hey, whazzup?" Luke said to the human-like figure after he took a picture of it.
Luke was about to walk closer to the thing when suddenly the human-like thing shouted, "INTRUDERS!!"
"Did he just said intruders?" Luke asked.
Almost just a second later, the same creature came running to our direction.
"EAT THEM!!!" they shouted.
"That doesn't sound good", Rixie laughed awkwardly.
"Mama mia! Run!" Luke exclaimed in his Italian accent.
"Back to the spaceship, come on!" I shouted.
"They're catching up," Jazz cried.
"Keep running, don't look back, it'll slow you down," Carlos said.
"Come on, vamonos, everybody let's go!" Luke cried instead of singing.
After all that running, we all made it to the spaceship safely. Carlos, who arrived at the spaceship first immediately turned it on. Luke and Rixie made sure that the door is locked. Jazz and I slumped on the floor panting for our lives. Carlos pushed the emergency button and the spaceship zoomed away from the place back to the path we passed by.
"Planet DYDX really exists," Jazz said.
"Luckily I have my camera, we have proof to show them what we found" Luke smirked.
"Luckily, we escaped that easily," I caught my breath.
