Chapter 3

When we get to the square they show everyone the tributes. When they ask for volunteers for the girls I raise my hand. "Fawn! I want to go in! Can you either take care of Kayla yourself or give her to the doctors," I tell Fawn.
"Ok," Fawn says knowing how much I trust her, and love Kayla and Kato.
"NO! I CAN'T LET YOU DO THIS SKYLAR! KAYLA NEEDS YOU! YOU CAN'T GO!" Kato says. "I can't let you."
"I want to go with you." I say. "You can't stop me!"
"Please! Please, no Skylar! Im begging you!" Kato says.
"Kato," I say walking to the stage. "Just stop. We'll get through this. Together."
"OK," Kato says.
"Thank you," I say.
"Ok," Kato says.
"Kayla! Fawn! Bring her her!" I yell. "Oh my. Kayla I'm so sorry, I can't believe I'm putting you and daddy through this!"
"Fawn. Which one? Give her to the doctors, or by yourself?" Kato asks very seriously.
He never really is serious. He is serious with me and now Kayla. "'I'll take care of her." Fawn says.
"Ok. Her milk is in the top right cupboard in the left corner. Ok?" I say to Fawn.
"Ok," Fawn says.
"Bye." I say with tears to Kayla.
Kato hugs me. "It's ok," he says.
"I - I - I know," I say sadly.
"Now, lets go to the train," Ally says.
"Oh, Ok," I say sadly still having tears in my eyes.
"Oh! Sweety! You so happy to be in the battle I bet!" Ally says.
"Wait! I want to go!" I hear Fawn yell.
"Fawn, no," I say.
"Yes. Let me. Kayla needs you," Fawn says.
"Ok," I say taking Kayla.
"I'll make sure Kato gets out. For you," Fawn says.
"Ok," I say. "Im going to miss you."
"I will miss you too," Kato says. "Make sure you watch over our little baby, alright Kayla."
"Hey!" I say.
"Fine! Watch over our baby Kayla. Ok Skylar?" Kato says.
I start crying. Kayla starts too. "Bye, Kato! Survive!" I yell.
"I will, I," Kato says being pushed onto the train.
"Come on Skylar. You their mentor," someone says.
So I go on too. I am allowed to bring Kayla with me. "Kato?" I ask.
"What are you doing here?" Fawn asks meanly.
"Who?" Kato asks. "Skylar! Kayla! Why are you here?"
"I'm, well were your guy's mentors!" I say.
"Great," Fawn says depressed.
"Why?" I ask.
"Well, you don't want to know," Fawn says.
"Know what?" I ask seeing Kato shake his head at Fawn.
I know exactly what happened. They kissed. I run away. Crying. I go to a bed room car. I will stay with Kayla in here. I know it's my room because there is a baby cribe. "Aw! It's pink too!" I say aloud.
"What? The cribe? Ya. I made sure it was pink," Kato says.
"Please, just leave till I'm ready to even look at you," I say crying while looking at Kayla in the cribe. She's so cute.
"Fine," Kato says angrily leaving.
I trip over something. "OWWWWW!!" I yell.
Kato doesn't come. "Ka, Ka, Kato?" I ask.
No one responds. I cry for 30 minutes. Then Ally comes and says, "What's wrong?"
"Kato!" I scream at her.
