The mandrakes were almost ready, perhaps two weeks left. I was getting more and more anxious as time to revive Alexandria came closer. I miss her so much and this year has been hell without her.
I was on my way to my room when Minerva found me. "Severus, this is urgent. The monster has taken a student. Ginny Weasley." She informed me. "Shit. Okay what are we doing?" I asked her as we began to walk together. "We are gathering the students in the common rooms with their head of house." She told me, and I nodded. "Didn't Lockhart said that he knew where the chamber was? That he could defeat the monster blindfolded, if give the chance? Why don't we let him try, if anything happens to him, it wont be a loss. Atleast not in my eyes." I suggest and she agrees. We make our way to Lockharts room to tell him.
"Well ofcourse I will gladly save Ms. Weasley. I just need to gather some things in my office and I will be on my way!" He boasts but i could see the nerves on his face. I sigh and exit the room, running into Potter and Weasley.
"Mr. Weasley, I am sorry about your sister. I am sure we will find her." I tell him, knowing that Alexandria would have said something to encourage him and I walk back to the dungeons to watch over my Slytherin students. The next few hours were dull, as I sat in a corner watching the students do nothing but talk about the chamber and the missing red-head. Draco came up to me and stopped my day dream of Alexandria.
"Professor, do you know why it would have taken Weasley? Shes a pureblood. A poor excuse of one though." Draco asked me and I shook my head. "I am not sure, Mr.Malfoy. I do know however that Professor Lockhart should be banishing the beast as we speak. If he is true to his word." I tell him and he nods. "Hey, is it alright if this summer I stay with you and Alex? Just for a week or so..." He questioned. "I'm sure Alexandria would love that. However, let us see how she is after we unpetrify her. After all, she will need some catching up." I told him and he thanked me before leaving me back alone in the corner. Draco was a good kid at times, I know his father had a lot to do with the way he acted, as Lucious acted the same when we were in school. As the night began to come Albus' sent his patronus, a pheonix. I got up and followed it and it led to the 3rd floor girls bathroom where I met Albus along with Minerva, Harry, Ron, Ginny and Lockhart. "What on Merlin's grave happened?" I look at how dreadful they all were. "Where am I?" Lockhart asked and I looked at him, confused.
"He stole my wand and he tried to erase our memories but it back fired. He lied about everything hes done. Hes nothing but a coward and a fraud." Ron told us and we began to make our way to the Infirmary.
" It was Voldemort, but it was him not much older than me. His memory was inside this journal. He made Ginny do everything. He framed Hagrid all those years ago! And if it wasn't for Fawkes healing my wounds, I would be dead from the Basilisk." Harry went on and we listened. His story was definitely one for the books. I noticed the journal was one of which Lucious had. I am not sure though how it ended up back here, unless Draco was forced to bring it. Which was not unlikely.Ginny Weasley healed up fine and the mandrakes were finally ready. Lockhart went to St.Mungos Hospitial, as he had no memory prior of the spell.
I held Alexandria's hand as Madame Pomfrey gave her the Mandrake potion. After several moments passed, her hand tightened around mine.
"Alexandria? Are you awake?" I ask and she moans. She slowly opens her eyes looks at me, blinking several times to get accustomed to the lighting.
"What happened?" She asked, her voice parched. "You were petrified, several months ago. However, Harry and Ron were able to defeat the monster and Voldemort, well his memory atleast." I went to explain further as she began to wake up fully. She sat up and listened to me explain the past several months without her. She scolded me when I told her about my binge drinking. However, she laughed when I told her about Lockhart.
"Serves him right!" She said, laughing.Hermoine Granger and the rest of the students were also fixed up and out of the Infirmary by the end of the week, and soon enough it was time to pack our bags and head home.
As we were saying good bye to Harry and the everyone else, I decided to pull Alexandria out of everyone's sight for a moment.
"Severus, what are you doing?" She laughed as I pulled her behind the building next to the train. "I have to ask you something." I smile at her. "Alright, well you could have asked me over there." She laughed again and I kissed her softly. "Yes but I would rather ask you like this." I tell her as I get down on one knee and pull out a ring that I had bought while she was petrified. She looked at me in awe, speechless.
"Alexandria, I know this year has been the hardest for us. However, while you were petrified I made a vow to you to love you forever and that means making you mine, truly. I love you. You have changed me as a man and as a wizard and I want to cherish life with you, until the end of time itself. Would you make me relieved and honored as to marry me?" I ask her, my heart jumping out of my chest. I really should've taken a calming drought for this. I could see tears forming in her eyes and she nods in agreement. "Yes. Yes. Yes. Ofcourse I will. Now get up here and kiss me!" She expresses and I quickly slide the ruby red and gold ring onto her finger and stand up to meet her lips.
This year will be our year. I know it.Sorry for the short book, there wasn't much action for Snape to be a part of. However the next book will be much longer. Until next time.
