it was true, hector had been feeling quite confused lately. he didn't know what he had done wrong, but he wanted his best friend back. normally, xureila and hector would be texting for hours about nothing in particular, just life itself. but it had been over three days and he hadn't heard from her at all. he wanted to reach out, but he was scared he had done something to hurt her.

the boy paced around his room for a good fifteen minutes before deciding his next move. he figured he wouldn't do any harm texting her, or at least trying to. he grabbed his phone and looked through his contact, finding her name. he had thought long and hard about what he was going to say. should he be energetic? interrogating? rude? no, he didn't want to bombard her with questions right now. so he decided to send a simple "hey".

quickly typing the message and pressing send, he threw his phone onto his bed and waited for something to happen.
