Erin's POV

It was stuffy and the room smelt of vodka, sweat, and weed. I pushed through people, I was in need of a drink and maybe a little snack.

There were girls grinding on guys in really short, tight dresses, taking constant sips from the red solo cups in their hands. There were girls laying on the kitchen table while guys did body shots and there were people playing beer pong out the back door.

I rolled my eyes a little, watching the before of the hangover. I continued walking towards the kitchen counter, noticing a large bottle of jagermeister. I filled a cup half way with it, then went to the fridge, searching for a drink to put in it. I grabbed a cola and popped it open, pouring it in until I thought I put in enough.

I took a sip then went over to the counters, opening cabinets and drawers, looking for a snack. Finally, I noticed a box of ritz crackers. Smiling, I opened it and began snacking.

Proceeding towards the living room where sweaty, drunk people were dancing, I sat on the couch, finishing up my drink and putting down the box of crackers I devoured.

On my left, I felt the couch go down. I looked over and smiled. "Hey, Sophie,"

"Hey! Enjoying the party?"

"Yeah, it's great!" I reply.

"Yeah.. soo nice of Harry to let us throw it in his house. Have you ever met Harry?"

Shaking my head, I replied. "No, I haven't,"

She gasped, standing up and taking my hand. "You've got to!"

As Sophie drunkly pushed and tumbled through the large groups of people, I struggled to stay behind her, getting squeezed and dissolved into the crowd. Once we eventually reached the back doors of the house, she slid open the door and brought me out to the beer pong table. "Harry!" she squealed, letting go of me and running to him.

I hear him laugh as I aproach the two hugging. "Are you drunk?" he asks her, grinning slightly.

"Only like.. this much,"
Sophie raised a hand and brought her fingers apart slightly.
"More like this much." Harry joked, using his arms to express the amount of drunk she was.

I couldn't help but stare at the boy in front of me. He had luscious long brown hair that actually was not that luscious but actually slightly oily. To be fair, he could just be sweating from this extreme heat wave and, you know, the heat of all these people packed into one space.

I smiled at Harry's joke then I watched as they began to kiss. Feeling awkward, I took a few steps to my right and began to walk away.

Outside, everyone was either in the pool, playing beer pong, smoking, or all three.

I was new to this town so it was a little weird for me. I mean, I only knew one person; Sophie.

Even though Sophie is a great friend, I needed to expand.

I noticed a group of people sitting on the far side of the pool with a bong in the middle.

Go over there, Erin. Make new friends. But do you really want to become friends with a bunch of druggies? 'Did you make any new friends today?' 'Oh yeah mum, tons! And they all do drugs! Great, right?!'

Without another glance, I walked straight over to the group with the bong.

I wasn't sure if I should introduce my self so I just sat and waited.

"Yeah, Michael's an asshole."
"Fuck Michael, am I right?"
They all laughed.

Who is Michael? Why is he an asshole?
