Moving in with my drug addicted brother and his friend.
Chapter Two:
Dusk:
I walked back into the living room when I finished making a sandwich, just in time to hear what Vince and his girl were saying.
"You'll what? Go ahead, threaten to kill me. I know exactly what you were going to say." The girl said, almost growling in Vince's face.
"Cassie, Cassie. Dear little sister. You know not to mess with me on this." Vince tightened his grip on her, I could tell because the girl flinched.
Sister? The way he was holding her down and staring at her like he was about to beat her to death could have fooled me to think that it wasn't his sister he was talking to.
All of a sudden his eyes flickered up to me and he smirked before lowering his head and whispering something in the girls ear. His eyes never leaving mine as he said whatever he was saying. Then he raised up and I caught the frightened look on the girls face before she covered it up.
The stared at each other and then Vince grinned menacingly causing the girl to flinch back again.
I watched the girl gulp before she whispered to Vince, "Vince. Don't do something you'll regret. You've already done enough, just go to bed and let me clean up. I'll pay you later for what's on the table, just...go to bed. Please."
I was bouncing on the balls of my feet, almost, and just as I was going to say something Vince was pushed off of her and he immediately stormed out of the room. I watched him slam his bedroom door before I looked at the girl....Vince's sister.
She ended up turning towards me when I was about to leave. Yeah, I was going to leave her there. I might be Vince's buddy but his family drama isn't something I was about to get into.
"Enjoy the show?"
At the sound of an angered voice I shook myself out of my thoughts, deciding to help the girl out I offered her my hand to help her stand up.
I watched as she brushed herself off, curious as to how she was going to react about the situation. Was she seriously going to be staying here? By the sights of her bags by the door I saw the second time I came in here I would guess she was.
"Take a picture, it'll last longer." I almost chuckled at the girl when she huffed and shoved past me.
My expression turned to one of bewilderment when she started cleaning up, tossing clothes in a corner at first and then picking up trash.
"Are you seriously about to clean all this shit up?"
"You've got eyes, what do you think I'm doing." She snapped without pausing from her work.
When she brought the trashcan from the kitchen and wiped the powered up pills from the table I choked on a bite of my sandwich.
