. . . you, Adrian Elijah Craddock, are a wizard.
Those words always seemed to creep back into said boys mind. Those words from three years ago that forever changed his life. The words that gave him a better life. He was brought out of his thoughts when Ethan entered his room.
The man smirked. "Stop day dreaming and get out of bed, Adrian. We need you awake for your eleventh birthday.
Adrian was annoyed. "How many times have I told you Uncle Ethan, it's Aiden, not Adrian. Name's just too formal."
"Well, enough times for to remember to annoy you for it. From what I'm hearing, it seems to be working." Ethan simply laughed at his godson's glare directed at him.
"Oh, shut up Talons!"
Ethan laughed even harder at Aiden's petulance.

After changing and washing up, Aiden made his way to dining room, stopping just to marvel at the fact that this beautiful place is his home. Well, more ancestral property but still, he actually owned the manor.
Overlooking the Irish Sea, Craddock Manor was built by the Normans in 1066. It was a reward for Lloyd Craddock, who helped the Normans against the Anglo-Saxons. It was said that Lloyd himself fired a cutting hex at Harold Godwinson's eye, killing him instantly. However to protect Craddock's identity as a wizard, the Normans started a rumor that Godwinson took an arrow to the eye. To this day the Craddocks still have the respect of old wizard families who came with the invaders.
Aiden was thoroughly impressed with the manor's style. It was a mixture of French and Celtic architecture and though now 900 years old, it looked like it was built yesterday. The first two places Aiden visited when he came here was the nursery where the nightmare took place and the graveyard in the backyard.
The nursery looked good as new, which confused Aiden. He thought it would at least be partially damaged. Ethan gave an explanation. "When I came here and saw the damage done, I placed as much money as I could into repairing this place. I wouldn't want my friends' house to look like the Shrieking Shack now would I?"
The backyard of the manor served as a graveyard for members of the Craddocks. It was here that Aiden saw his parents' graves and didn't even hold the tears back.

Aiden placed a flower, a white lily, on both their graves. He could only give Ethan a weak smile before going back to his room, crying for those he lost.

When Aiden entered the dining room he was greeted by the smell of bacon and eggs. Ethan look at the boy's obvious excitement with mirth in his green eyes. Today was Aiden's eleventh birthday, today he would get his Hogwarts letter. From the tales he received of Hogwarts from Ethan, he was instantly excited. So far he only understood a few things from his godfather's tales:
The school is divided up into four houses: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin.
You're sorted by way of your attributes.
