"While there are areas like this in Wales, you need a wand that suits you the best and the best Wandmaker in the Isles happens to be Ollivander, right here in Diagon Alley."
Ethan led Aiden through thee crowded shopping area. They had already taken Galleons out of Aiden's Family Vault at Gringotts and bought his books at Flourish and Blotts. The pair were on their way to Madam Malkin's for Aiden's robes.
Aiden entered the shop while Ethan waited outside. Inside, he saw boys conversing. One had platinum-blond hair and grey eyes while the other had messy black hair, green eyes and round glasses. When the blond left the store, Aiden decided to talk to the black haired boy.
"G'day." greeted Aiden. "Are you starting your first year as well?"
"Yeah, I am." replied the boy. "Today's my birthday as well."
"Really? Well happy birthday. I'm Aiden, Aiden Craddock." Aiden held out his hand for the boy to shake.
"Harry Potter" the boy said and they shook hands.
"Nice to meet you, Harry and hope to see you at school."
"Can't wait Aiden. See you at school." and with that Harry left.
After getting his robes, Aiden and Ethan bought the rest of Aiden's supplies and were now at the last and most important stop of their trip: the wand. The duo stopped at Ollivanders and, like at Madam Malkin's, Ethan waited outside.
Aiden looked at the wands on display in the shop and sneezed because of the amount of dust. Mr. Ollivander looked at him with amusement.
"I've expecting you Mr. Craddock. The Craddocks do tend to be boring customers. Members of your family tend to receive the same core and wood for their wands for 10 generations at most, it makes me all the more curious which of my creations you will be getting."
Aiden stare at the strange man.
"Now, enough chat." said Ollivander, suddenly excited. "You, my boy, are here for one reason." Let's not waste any of your time."
About one-and-a-half minutes later, (which caused damage to two windows, a vase and the destruction of a bookshelf.) Ollivander gave Aiden a wand that that been there for thirty years.
The wand felt warm, comfortably warm, and Aiden could feel the power it gave him. With a flick, red sparks shot out of the wand and it's master smiled at it. Ollivander also looked impressed.
"Yew and dragon heartstring, 11 1/2 inches, unyielding. This wand has a twin that was bought twenty years ago." Ollivander gave Aiden a small smile. "Your father would be glad you have his wand's brother. You also received a different core but same wood as your ancestor's wands. I wonder why yew resonates with you Craddocks so much."
Aiden now felt more attached to his wand. After giving the required galleons and a quick goodbye to Ollivander, Aiden found Ethan outside with an owl in a cage.
"I decided to buy you an owl so you can keep in contact with me during school or with your friends during the summer. All you need to do is give him a name" he said before handing the cage over.
Aiden took the time to admire the beautiful horned owl who was staring backing at him. After a few seconds the name 'Dorian' was chosen. The owl, judging by his excited barking, agreed.
With everything now out of the way, the two (technically three if you count Dorian) floo'ed back to Craddock Manor. Aiden spent the rest of the day reading through his book before going to bed, happy that he now had two new friends.
