The story happens 6 years after the games, so all characters are correspondingly older.

The world was waking up again. Winter is over and the last snow has melted. The birds sang sitting on branches or in their newly made nests. Everyone knew that it was time to start preparing for Easter.

People left their homes and, breathing fresh spring air, started buying things they needed to celebrate Easter. Of course, candy stores had the most customers. Everyone wanted to buy a large supply of chocolate eggs, chocolate bunnies and many other things that can be created from chocolate. For kids, it was one of the few times in the year when they could eat large amounts of sweets and this was tolerated by their parents. Who would not take the opportunity?

Everyone enjoyed the warm spring weather. Well, almost everyone. There was only one fox with two tails who lay wrapped in a blanket on the couch in his workshop and slept. And he would probably have slept longer, but his sleep was interrupted by loud knocks on the door.

"Tails, wake up!"

Tails opened his eyes lazily only to close them after a while and put his head under a warm blanket. However, the outside intruder was no less stubborn than the sleepy fox.

"Tails, I know you're there!"

Tails growled softly and stuck his head out from under the blanket "Go away, Sonic."

"The time for winter sleep is over!"

"Seriously? I didn't notice anything." Tails replied lazily.

"If you left the workshop sometimes, you would notice. Now get up, we have a lot of work today."

"Okay! Okay! Jezzzz... I'll get up soon! Just give me a moment."

Tails heard footsteps receding and sighed. He knew he should not sit until morning working on his last invention. He has been doing this more and more often, despite the awareness that he shouldn't do it.

"Do we have a lot of work today? What day is today?"

One glance at the calendar answered his question.

"April 12..." Tails said sleepily "Wait... April 12?" His eyes opened wide "APRIL 12! EASTER!"

Tails threw off the blanket and immediately stood up, just to slip on a screwdriver on the ground. Fortunately, he landed on the couch again.

"You have a lesson, Tails." Tails groaned, dissatisfied with his clumsiness "Next time I have to look under my feet... and clean my workshop after work."

This short event completely awakened Tails, who got up again and looked around the workshop.

"A big mess, but I don't have time for spring cleaning right now. Today is Easter. I almost forgot that me and Sonic promised to help the others prepare the party."

Tails stretched several times and then left the workshop and went to the kitchen. His breakfast was simple and quick because he was in a hurry to get to Vanilla's house as soon as possible.

Tails was just finishing eating his cereal with milk, and then Sonic ran into the kitchen.

"Well, you are up, this is an achievement." Sonic gave Tails a smirk.
