Five days had already past. The auburn-haired girl was walking down one of the halls to get her last class. It was the last day for classes and Hope could not express enough about how much she had wished for this day to come from the moment she started her first class of the year. But that wasn't the case anymore since lately, it had become the day she most dreaded. Hope knew that sounded a bit exaggerated but it was honestly how she felt about it. After tonight, she'd be all alone for the rest of the summer, probably keeping herself occupied with movies and sulking around in her room all day every day. Because without her boyfriend, Hope had no one else to talk to, no one to spend time with. Well, that wasn't necessarily true since she also had Rafael, but he was going away too.

The tribrid mentally sighed in her head. This summer would have to be the worst-

Suddenly, Hope found herself colliding into a rather tall figure, causing her to drop all of her belongings along with theirs. She immediately backed away to see that the person she ran into was none other than one of the Saltzman twins. Josie Saltzman.

Hope thought she was probably staring too much when she realized that she wasn't paying attention to what the other girl was trying to say. But it was just the brunette struggling to speak up for some reason.

"I'm so sorry, Hope." Josie apologized quickly, tucking away a strand of her hair behind her ear before kneeling on the floor to pick up her stuff.

The auburn-haired girl grabbed whole of herself, then mirrored the brunette's action and did the same, "No, it's fine. Um," she grabbed a few of her things before looking up at the brunette who was frantically gathering her items, "I'm just glad you're not your sister."

Josie paused at her comment for a moment to give her a side glance. Usually, the brunette was quick to put up an argument to defend her sister against remarks, but she knew better with the tribrid. She knew it wasn't her fault that Lizzie was angry at her. She also knew that most of the people that her twin disliked had never done anything to anger the blonde in the first place so, instead of voicing her question with bitterness, as she had previously intended, she decided to change her tone into a more sincere one. "Why? Do you have something against her?"

"More like she has something against me," Hope replied, her tone sounded a bit more sarcastic than had she liked.

"Oh," Josie muttered melancholy. "I'm sorry."

Hope just chuckled, "Geez, stop apologizing so much. We've only been talking for like, a minute and you've already apologized to me twice."

"Sorry, it's just who I am." Josie apologized again. Hope raised an eyebrow to make the other girl realize what she just did. It took a couple of seconds, but once the brunette figured it out, she instantly squeezed her eyes shut with a soft grin she couldn't hold back. "Right."

The tribrid got all of her possessions in one arm and got up before extending her other arm to offer a hand to help the brunette up. The other girl gave her a small smile and gladly took it after grabbing her things. "Thank you." She smiled.

Hope gave her a nod, "You're welcome."

There was a moment of silence between the two girls, neither of them spoke up or made a move to get away from the other. Both of their heads were down, eyes glued to the floor, except for the times they looked up at one another to steal glances, but never at the same time. The awkwardness was due to the lack of interaction between them in the past, mainly because of Lizzie, who had always come between the two since Hope was her sworn enemy and Josie was her sister. There was a time once when the two girls were just exchanging greetings to each other before the blonde girl came out of nowhere and made up an accusation of Hope before she dragged her brunette twin away, leaving the auburn-haired girl confused as to what she had done. Hope sighed quietly at the memory, she still had no idea why Lizzie had despised her so much over the years. Looking at the other Saltzman twin who stood in front of her, she felt pity for her. The tribrid wouldn't know what she'd even be like if she had a sister like hers. She shook her head at the thought, feeling bad for even thinking about it in the first place. She was sure the blonde acted in a more loving way towards her own twin, even if she had never seen that side of her herself. Hope looked down at the ground again after she realized that she had been staring again.
