(V/N) = Villager name.

You yawned loudly and squinted your eyes, glancing at the clock beside the bed. It was 5:30 in the morning, and the sun wasn't even out yet.

Usually, you were the type to sleep in, but since today was April 1st, you had the urge to get up early to make sure no villager played a prank on you, which was unlikely.

You sat up in the comfy bed and slowly got up, still yawning. It seemed as if your bed was calling for you to return to it, but you just ignored it and went to your wardrobe to pick out an outfit for the day.

"Eh... that isn't my style- wait why the hell is there a mustache in here? Oh, I like that one!" After awhile of indecisiveness, you picked out the perfect outfit!

You look at the clock again. It was now 6:00, meaning you had wasted 30 minutes looking for an outfit. A bit surprised, you brush your hair and step outside the door, being greeted with the essence of uh, islandness.

"Now, what should I do today?" You ask yourself whilst taking out your favorite net.

Maybe catching some bugs could be a start. You smile and see a dragonfly, a bug that could be donated to the museum. You decide to chase it down until you bump into something. Or someone.

Startled, you whack whatever it was you bumped into with the net harshly, not seeming to care if it was just a villager.

"Ow! Well, THAT'S not a nice way to greet me!" An unfamiliar voice complained.

You gasp and quickly put your net away, looking to see who you hit. It was a rabbit, and a creepy one at that.

"Ahem, anyway! Why, hippity skippity, hoppity ho! Now that you found me... I'll say a warm hello!"

You examined the enthusiastic yellow rabbit as he began his speech.

"I'm a lucky ol' bunny. Yeppity yipper. And here's a little tip... You can call me Zipper!"

Zipper then started clapping. "Yaaaay! You can clap now. No really, go on." He added in a low murmur.

"What a creep."  Was your first thought for this creature.

He looked off compared to the other animals. In response, you awkwardly clapped your hands together, not saying a word.

"Well well, isn't this swell! Here you are...and here I am to tell you all about my favorite holiday!" The rabbit continued.

"Let me guess, it has to do with candy and eggs?" You commented.

"I- yes! It's almost Bunny Day! Hop-hop-hooray! That's my favorite time to come out and play!" Zipper chirped. "And I know what you're thinking. No. This is NOT a costume. And don't you go snoopin', got it?"

"Mhm." That intrigued you slightly. Was it actually a costume?

The dragonfly hovered above Zipper.

"Ugh. I've got so much prep work to do. I hope you can keep yourself busy." Zipper sighed heavily. "And guess what! This funny bunny has a Bunny Day secret just for you!"

To you, Zipper seemed like the kind of guy to try and act cheerful for his job, but deep down, he really couldn't give two sh*ts.

The dragonfly flew off, out of your view.

"Listen here Zipper, I don't care. I don't know who you are and where you came from, but I don't want to hear it." You interrupted him, annoyed.

The yellow rabbit didn't respond for a few seconds, appearing to be speechless. You instantly regretted what you had just said.

"So I hid all those eggs for nothing?" He asked you, a hint of disappointment in his voice.

"What?" You responded.

"There are six types of eggs hidden around the island, you see." He stated. "My eggs can only be found in the great outdoors! In the trees, in the rocks, and in the water too. Search the sky and search the ground that's what you should do!"

"You mean there are eggs littering the entire island!? Why would you do that!" You yelled. "I think I'll get more annoyed catching an EGG instead of a Sea Bass!"

He went quiet again. "Ya know what kid, I was just trying to be nice. I always deal with people like you, going around trapping me in a fence, whacking me with a net, and trying every method possible to get rid of me." Zipper sighed for the second time and handed you a DIY recipe.

You hesitantly took it and examined the back of it. It was a crafting recipe for a Bunny Day glowy garland. You felt bad for getting upset over eggs and wanted to apologize, but when you looked up, he was gone.

You saw your friend (V/N) walking around and they decided to strike up a conversation with you.

"Oh, hey (Y/N)! Did you know that if you use a Nook Miles Ticket and travel to an island, EGGS come out of the rocks? Weird, right? Even weirder... I hear eggs are sometimes popping out of rocks on THIS island too!"

"There are eggs there too? Wow." You muttered and looked over (V/N).

In the distance, you saw Zipper standing in place, looking at the ocean waves.

"Just a moment." You said to (V/N) and tiptoed behind Zipper.

"Psst, Zipper." You whispered, startling him.

The rabbit perked up and started dancing in place as if he was always doing that.

What a weirdo.

"Uh, listen, I just wanted to say... I'm sorry Zipper. I bet your job is overwhelming and you didn't deserve the hate from me." You tried to apologize.

Zipper paused and looked at you. "It's alright, skipper!"

You smiled and pat him on the head.

"Maybe eggs everywhere isn't THAT bad of an idea." You shrug. "Totally not a bad idea. Won't get repetitive at all-"

"Don't worry, they'll only be here until after Bunny Day!" He began dancing again.

"Zipper, you don't have to act like this all the time."

"Are you sure?" He stopped, again.

 "I'm very sure."

"Phew. I can't wait until this is over..." He sighed. That rabbit sure did sigh a lot.

"You look like you could use a hug." You suggested and stared at him with a look on your face.

"Hm? Oh I don- ACK!"

It was too late, you were already hugging Zipper. You kept hugging him until you decided to let go and step back. A faint blush was on his face.

"So when will you be back?" You questioned him.

"Bunny Day is April 12th! I promise to bounce right on back to this island on that wonderful, FUNderful day!" He was back to acting in character again.

"Alright, I'll see you then, Zipper."

"Oh but wait-! In the meantime, skipper, don't tell anyone ya run into ol' Zipper. It'll be a funny-bunny surprise!"

"Riiiight."

You waved goodbye and went back to your friend, (V/N).

"(Y/N)! Where'd you run off too?" They asked with worry.

"Don't worry, I was just talking to a... friend." You looked back to see that Zipper was gone.
