Eugene just stood there with his mouth open and his eyes widened. He started to sweat. He was too shocked to hold the knife any longer and dropped it. The knife on the other hand never reached the floor.

San flashed towards the knife and went back to the spot where he stood with black smoke swirling around him. He grabbed the knife.

'Well. Look who is holding your fate now!' San laughed in an evil way. The knife went up in the air a couple of times and caught it every time. San playfully made gestures as if he was trying to throw the knife at Eugene. The enjoyment was reading from his face as he saw his potential victim being helpless.

At that point I couldn't take it anymore. I became scared for Eugenes' life. Even though he is my ex, I didn't want him to die. Yet.

'San. Please! Stop this.' Desperation was heard in every vibration of my voice. With my knees falling onto the floor, I begged him to stop.

'My beauty. You shouldn't be on the floor. That's stupid.' With his free hand, He wanted to help me to get up. With his attention focused on me, Eugene saw an opportunity and charged.

Before he reached him, San used his power and stopped him. He stretched out his arm. Eugene couldn't move at all.

'I.... can't.... move!' Eugene was fighting off the dense feeling of being stuck in his own body.

'Just behave, okay? I need to have a word with my girlfriend. If you don't mind.' San smirked and released Eugene out of his imprisonment.

'Eugene!' I rushed towards him, completely ignoring San, who was at this point more agitated that I checked on Eugene instead of him.

As I fell onto my knees and was checking every part of his body, a huge shock of pain went through my face. It felt like I was being hit by a truck. I thought Eugene was changed but the smack he gave me proved me wrong.

'Get away from me!' He yelled as he was trying to catch his breath.

I fell down on the floor. I looked up as I was holding my cheek.

In the old days, I became used to the fact that he was abusive. Eugene abused me in every way possible. But this time his slap was too hard for me to get used too again, or at least endure it.

The entire room was spinning all of a sudden. My vision looked like I chugged 10 bottles of wodka in one go. In my blurry vision I only saw little red dots. As I started to lose my consciousness, I couldn't see who's eyes were turning red. As my doubt that it would be Eugene his eyes went through my head, everything around me turned black.

- The next morning -

I opened my eyes and my vision was still blurry. Pushing myself up, I fell back into the bed with a throbbing headache.

'Uugh.. My head hurts. It feels like an fucking hangover.'

I groaned and was rubbing my eyes to help me to get my vision clearer. Suddenly I saw a figure hovering over me. I startled and wanted to cry. My vision became more clear as I quickly grabbed my glasses and saw that San was smiling at me.
