A/N: I've decided to update the first chapter earlier than I said in the last chapter just as a Christmas present to you all!! I felt bad leaving you in suspense like that so here you go (: all updates after this are going to be after at least the 8th of January. I can't wait to write this story! I think it's going to be the best way to wrap up this series. I'm going to say now that there won't be anymore books after this one. This is it. This is the final book. So shall we get on with it (:
I watched in horror as the paramedics whisked my bloodstained, adopted, daughter, Ceneedra, into an ambulance. She had just been shot twice by her mentally unstable biological mother.
I could vaguely hear the police officer asking me questions but I couldn't make out the words.
"Mr Fuentes," the officer said. "Are you able to answer my questions please?"
"Sir," Amelia said coming to my rescue. "He's just seen his daughter get shot, can the questions wait?"
The officer walked away and started talking to Calum.
"Go with her, Mike," Amelia told me nodding towards the ambulance.
I did as she said. I couldn't look at Cen. She was lying there covered in blood with an oxygen mask on her face and connected to a heart monitor which, thankfully, was still beeping. The paramedics closed the doors to the ambulance and we took off fast.

I wouldn't leave her side until I knew she was going to be okay. There was always the possibility that she wouldn't be but I couldn't think about that. I just wanted my daughter to be okay. I hadn't slept or eaten since it happened. It's been a week. She'd had so many visitors. There'd obviously been Vic, Jaime, Tony, Amelia, Jenna, Rasleen and Alysha. There'd also been Calum, Luke, Ashton, Michael, Austin, Alan, Phil, Aaron, Tino, Alex, Jack, Rian, Zack, Kellin, Jack, Gabe, Jesse and all her friends from school. But Justin hadn't come in. That made me angry. I know she'd cheated on him and kissed Calum and they had broken up, but I still thought he'd visit at least once, show he cared. But nothing.
Calum was sitting on the side of Cen's bed opposite me. At least he cared enough to be by her side. Stupid Justin. Ashton was next to him. It was weird thinking that he was Cen's cousin when she had grown up without any, but he seemed like a good kid, plus he was a drummer which made me like him just that little bit more.
Calum gasped and his eyes widened. "She squeezed my hand," he said in shock.
I smiled. Everything was going to be okay! Or so I thought. Next thing we know, she's flatlining and doctors come running into the room pushing the three of us out.A/N: oops left you guys in suspense again IM SORRY!!!! I didn't expect that to happen. Anyway, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and all that jazz. I'll see your beautiful faces next year!!! Please vote and comment (: much love xxxx
