Picking Up the Pieces

Chapter 2

A/N: IM BAAAACK!!! :D so I had my uni interview today and guess what... I GOT IN!!! I'm now going to be doing a music course for the next three and a half years and I'm really excited!!! Sorry that I had to stop updating because of it but it was really important mainly cos it was the only course/uni I signed up for. But I'm now back and working on three stories (check out my new Sirius Black one if you wanna)!! Hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year!!

"You can go in and see her now," the doctor told me.
I pretty much ran into Cen's room. She was sitting up in bed looking out the window. I walked over to her. "Cen,"
Her head turned towards me and she smiled. "Dad."
I wanted to hug her but I didn't want to hurt her so I kissed the top of her head. "I'm so glad you're okay," I whispered.
"Me too," Cen replied. "How many times have I almost died now?" she laughed.
"Too many," I said shaking my head. "I'm going to lose my hair faster than I already am if you keep up like this."
Cen smiled at me. "What's the bet my Patronus would be a cat since I seem to have nine lives," she joked. "Maybe then I could be as badass as McGonagall."
I chuckled. "I think you already are."

CENEEDRA'S POV
It was really scary waking up and being told that you'd almost died after being shot twice by your estranged mother. Lucky I had my family and friends to help me. I had a lot of visitors but not the one person I wanted to see. I didn't deserve to see Justin after what I did, but that didn't stop me from wanting to see him. I was stuck in the hospital for weeks after I woke up but I passed the lonely time by watching movies I hadn't seen before but had Ben Barnes in them. I became obsessed with the music from Killing Bono and listened to it nonstop.
Eventually I was let out of the hospital and got to go back to Dad's. He had managed to get custody of me again although it wouldn't matter since I was going to be 18 in less than a week.
I had just walked into my bedroom when my phone vibrated.

From: Cal-Pal
How ya doing missy? x

I smiled as I flopped down onto my bed and replied.

To: Cal-Pal
A whole lot better than I had been in that bloody hospital haha x

Calum replied almost instantly which made me smile even more if that was possible.

From: Cal-Pal
Your dad invited the boys and I around tonight, are you going to be there to hang with? x

To: Cal-Pal
Ofc!! We need to have a movie night!! x

There was a knock on my door once I hit send.
"Come in."
"I reckon a movie night sounds good," Calum smiled as he walked in.
I smiled and made space for him on my bed. Calum lay down next to me and rested his head on my good shoulder. We had done this many times in the hospital that it was just normal for everyone now, including Dad.
"I like your room," Calum said. I could hear the smirk in his voice and realised he was looking at the 5SOS poster I had at the end of my bed.
"Shut up," I mumbled, my cheeks going a very bright shade of pink.
"I feel bad for not having a picture of you on my wall now," Calum laughed.
I rolled my eyes and stole his phone from his hand. I unlocked it and took a selfie then set it as his wallpaper on both his lock and home screens.
"Close enough," I smirked giving Calum's phone back.
"You two coming down for dinner?" Ashton asked appearing in the doorway.
"Yup," I answered as I tried to get up using only my uninjured arm and trying to ignore the pain in my side.
"Ash," Calum smirked. "Have a look at this poster."
Ashton walked into my room and looked at the poster.
"Oh for Gods sake," I sighed.
"Cute, Cen," Ashton smiled at me. "Although kind of weird considering we're cousins."
"Shut up," I laughed. "I didn't know that when I put it up."
"Excuses, excuses," Ashton joked as the three of us walked out of my room and went downstairs to where Dad, Alysha, Michael and Luke were eating pizza. We sat down and joined them. Life was finally getting good again.

A/N: I know it's a short chapter but I need to get back into writing haha. Anyway, what did you guys do to celebrate New Years? I stayed home by myself, watched Prince Caspian and Voyage of the Dawn Treader because who wouldn't want to spend New Years looking at Ben Barnes gorgeous face, got drunk, played singstar and beat all my high scores :D it was great!!
