The Last Few- Chapter 7

This chapter is going to be a bit more detailed since I am writing it while watching the episode, just an Fyi.

Kiti Pov~

I woke up the next day energized. I got out of bed and did my morning routine. I was walking to school with Kei, when I heard a whistle from behind me followed by a whisper "Look at her, She smokin'!" An irk mark appeared on both my and Kei's forehead.

I looked in Kei's direction, and without stopping or looking my way, shook his head. I sighed and kept walking. I heard a few more comments as we walked and by the time we had arrived at school, I had a few boys trailing me at a safe distance.

This wasn't anything new, back in America, I did get teased for my height, but I also got hit on a lot. So I kept walking to class. I sat down at my desk as two boys approached me. I rolled my eyes, "What do you want." I started.

The boy farther away patted his friend on the back and snickered a bit. I know where this is going. I sighed, "No. I won't go out with you. I barely know you, let alone want to get to know you. The best thing you can do is keep your moth shut before you embarrass yourself. Oh, and just a tip, forget this ever happened." I stopped him before he could say anything.

He stood there shocked and blushing. I saw his friend snickering, but also looking at his friend a bit sympathetic. The guy turned around and hit his friend on the head, taking my tip and pretending this never happened.

The rest of the day flew by and before I knew it I was walking to the gym with Kei. Practice was the same as always, serves spikes, and receives. It was the end of practice and I saw Tanaka, Suga and Noya looking at a magazine.

I walked over to see what it's all about and saw a picture of friend of mine. "What are you guys all excited about?" Hinata said walking over with Kageyama. Tanaka gave him the magazine and he looked at it. "Hey isn't that the school Kageyama couldn't get into?" Kageyama looked angry "Would you shut it!" Me and Kei snickered.

Hinata looked at it closer, "Who's Ushiwaka?" He asked. Tanaka looked at him startled "You seriously don't know who Ushiwaka is!?" He started to explain "Ushiwaka is his nickname, his real name is Wakatoshi Ushijima, and he's the number one ace in the prefecture"

"Ya, just look at him. That is what an ace is supposed to look like." Daichi says. Everyone narrows their eyes and looks at Asahi, "H-hey why is everyone looking at me!?" He asks, he just sulks and Noya pats him on the back.

I sigh, good old Ushiwaka. We had met back in America at a training camp. He was a pretty straight forward guy. I got to know him pretty well while I was there. I will say he is very good, and pretty easy to learn from if you pay attention.

I space out while remembering how he plays. I get brought back to attention when Sensei opens the door, "You're all still in here?" He asks "I'm so sorry I'm late, I got stuck in a meeting. Anyways, I got the bracket for the preliminaries" He states.

Everyone looks at the paper. "If our team and Date Tec both clear the first round, we'll be up against them in round two" Noya says, I roll my eyes "Way to state the obvious" Kei looks at the sheet closer "We shouldn't get ahead of our selves guys" Kei starts, "Aoba Johsai is in our block this year. That's not good."

I look at it. He's right, but I'm not so sure if it's that big of a deal. I look at our first game. 'Tokonami' I think 'Never heard of them'.

Time Skip- Next Day At Practice

I was about to enter the gym with Kei when Suga stopped us, "Hey Tsukishima, Kiti" He says "Hey" We reply in monotone unison "Geez, you guys are creepy. Anyways, I have something for you" He hands us both a piece of paper.

I look down at it to see hand signals and plays, "I made copies for all the first years. Signals." He says "My technical skill may not be as good as Kageyama's is, so I can't always set perfect sets." He starts doing hand signals "But hand signals might help us communicate our next move during a game"

I look down at it "It might not take you long to remember them" He laughs a bit looking at me "But maybe you can help the other first years learn them" I nod and we both said our thanks and walked into the gym as a group.

I walked over to coach, "Do you want me to research our opponent?" I ask. He shakes his head "No need, I did a little research of my own. Turns out their a small time team, doesn't mean were not going to be prepared for the worst, there's just no need really." I nod.

I walk off as Sensei approaches him. I walk over to Suga and we run a few plays coach explained to the guys. Practice went on, and me and Suga nailed a quick attack, "Alright!" He exclaims "Your really good at adapting you know that?" He asks. I simply smile and say "I get that a lot"

Practice finished soon after that. I was walking with Kei a bit farther behind the team. Tanaka offered us a meat bun and we gladly excepted. After that we finished and went home. I was kinda excited about tomorrow, but even more so about the spring tournament. I wonder what it will bring?
