Today is Saturday and I'm going to the movies with Kahlil tonight we've been spending a lot of time with each other at school for the past 4 weeks today we're going on a date here I am at home wondering what amma wear and I don't have anything nice to put on I think amma borrow some of my friend clothes from the shelter

" hey mia"

" Hey girl"

"I was just wondering can I borrow some of your clothes again I'm kinda going out with a guy I like to the movies"

"no problem girl you know you can barrow them anytime you want"

"thank you"

she has really been a good friend to me and my sisters she has some really nice clothes while we have some clothes we bought from the dollar store and what people come to the shelter and donate to us and trust me they're not cute and good but we really appreciate it my mom always told us to appreciate the little that we get because we could have got nothing at all

I took a black and white Vans, a washout ripped jeans pants and a white hoodie from Mia

"Thank you, MiMi"

" your welcome Aasha you know you can borrow my clothes anytime"

ok so I don't have a phone I told Kahlil that my phone dropped in the toilet and it's not working because he asked me for my number yesterday at school I told him to pick me up at where he dropped me and my sisters the last time at 3 it's now 2:45 I better get going 

when I arrived about 5 minutes later Kahlil came 

he came out and hug me and open the door so I can sit

" thank you"

" your welcome"

" so what movie we'll be watching?" I asked

"anything you want to watch baby," he replied

Baby oh so this nigga just call me baby oh I see you Kahlil all flirty with me ok I see you

" Ok" 

the car ride was silent because I didn't know what to say

we finally arrived at the movie theatre and we bought two tickets to watch the new bad boy movie

we got into the theatre and sit at the back

and Kahlil went to get us some food 

I think amma tell Kahlil the truth about me cause I don't want to lie to somebody I really like

" Hey Ash so I brought nachos and cheese popcorn and two soda" " which one you want?" he asked me

" ill take the nachos thank you" I replied

" ok nachos for you shorty"

we started to watch the movie all I was doing was laughing because the movie was so funny

I felt Kahlil staring at me

"boy stop staring"

"why, can't I stare at a beautiful girl"

I began to blush 

" uh you got something here," he said while wiping the cheese off my face

I'm so embarrassed

so the movie was over and we came out and started walking to his car

" I had a great time tonight," I said to him

" Me too you're lucky I don't normally take girls out with me but I think your different and special," he said to me while smiling 

that makes me feel guilty I don't think hell like me anymore when he finds out I'm poor 

I stayed silent and went in the car

we arrived at the place he picked me up

"tonight was fun with you Aasha I hope we can do this sometime again"

I think i should tell him

"uh I think I should tell you something"

" I'm not the girl you think I am"

"I'm not the girl you wanna take to the movies or anywhere or to be your girl"

" Kahlil I've been lying to you since I got to the school"

"what you mean?" he said to me

" look Kahlil I'm a poor girl I live in a shelter me and my sisters are very poor we live in a shelter with our mom these clothes that I wore tonight ain't mines it's my friend mia's I borrowed it just to look cute for you tonight I'm not the girl you wanna be with all I wear     is just dollar clothes and clothes that I donated to the shelter I live in every day all I eat is Ramen noodles because that's all we can afford I'm telling you this because I don't want to lie to in thinking someone I'm not I even lied to you about my phone I don't have a phone because I can't afford one I'm sorry about this" it felt good telling the truth he's the only one that now knows about me at school and it felt right telling him because I don't want to lie to him

I was stepping out of the car when he held back my hand

"Aasha I don't care how poor you are I like you as you you don't have to lie to me to impress me you're a really good girl I can be myself around you and I really like you I like you a lot Aasha," he said to me  

"ok this is not where I live thou the shelter is down there"

he drove down to the shelter 

"ok soo this is where my family and I live"

" thank you for tonight I had a really great time bye," 

"wait" he replied 

he pulls me back and kissed me 

"now goodnight Aasha," he said smiling

" bye Kahlil," I said blushing

I went straight inside and he drove off

nobody has never liked me when I told them about how I live 

he's different 

I really like him
