When Simon pulled him at the back of a black van, Jace grunted from the pain as he slid down on the floor of the vehicle. The engine was already on and Jace vaguely realized they were moving. Simon was kneeling next to him, there was a blonde-haired driver and another skinny looking dude on the passenger seat. At the back, there were 3 more guys, one of them took off his mask and the other followed suit. The guy that removed his mask first was the one who had attacked Jace. He had a small cut on his cheek now, his nose bloody and his grey eyes were fixed on Jace, his face slightly sullen. "You didn't tell me he had such mean kicks. I don't feel my nose, you're lucky it's not broken." he whined, touching the bridge of his nose. Simon chuckled. "Yeah, he's a fighter." Simon said, touching Jace's shoulder. the blonde winced and then eyed the man. "Sorry about that. But when a man attacks me, I don't really stop to say 'hi' and ask them over for tea." he said, his voice slightly drained but sarcastic and he was now breathing heavy. The man stopped touching his face and stared at him in disbelief. Then, the driver started to laugh, along with the other 3 men. "Come on, Joe, we had way worse back in Afghanistan. Don't you come bitching over an 'almost broken' nose." he said and his voice was very low and bariton-like.

Simon had a smile on, but his eyes were fixed on Jace's wound. "I'm fine." Jace said through gritted teeth and Simon scoffed. "You were shot. You're not fine, trust me. I know." he said, but then quickly looked at Jace's face, that fell a little. "I didn't mean-Jace, I'm sorry. None of this is your fault. It's mine." Simon said, touching the blonde's cheek slightly. Jace shook his head, closing his eyes. "No. It's mine. You almost got killed because of me." he replied, his voice sad and pained. Simon leaned in, putting their foreheads together. "Hey, it's okay. Besides, I love the danger. Flying bullets, evil henchmen and cute blonde FBI agents - it's what I live for." Simon said, making Jace chuckle. Then he groaned again. "Ah, fuck. That actually hurts." he said and another man approached them. He had almost gray hair and his face appeared older than the other men, but his eyes were kind. "Simon, move over. Let me." he said and Simon instantly went to Jace's other side. "This is Jared. He's the medic." Simon explained, when the man touched Jace's arm. He nodded. "The bullet went through, so that's good. I've got all the gear back at the safehouse, I'll patch you up there." he said, inspecting the wound.

"So, what's all this? The Avengers? And when did you learn how to shoot a gun? And properly knock a guy on his ass?" Jace asked, amused now, his eyes going from one man to another. "What do you mean properly?" Simon glared at him and Jace laughed. "Mark, the driver, he's one of my oldest friends. We used to live together, until he went and joined the fucking Special Forces. Dude just loved the danger. Lunatic." Simon pointed at the blonde driver, who waved his hand. "Nice to finally meet you, Jace." he said and Jace smiled at him. "All of these other dudes are Mark's army buddies." Simon continued and Mark took over. "The guy next to me is Carlos, real quiet guy but specialized in bombs and detonators. My advice? Always watch out for the quiet guys." Mark said and the exotic looking dude on the passenger seat nodded slightly. "Jared is our medic, he patched us up even when we we're missing a limb, real pro. Joe, the guy whose nose you almost broke, is Jared's little brother. Those two bicker all the time, so bare with us." the blonde continued and Jace looked at Joe apologetically. "Whatever, dickhead, it's not like you and Simon don't  fuck with each other all the time." Joe grunted, making Simon and Mark share a look and Simon laughed.

"Then there's Harry, the one who does the heavy lifting, but also any other job that needs to be done." mark finished, pointing at the bald and well built guy, who nodded at Jace, his smile surprisingly bright. Jace tried to sit up a little. "So you just called in the biggest baddest men you could find and went on a crazy rescue mission? How'd you even find me?" Jace asked, eyeing Simon, who was smiling at him. He was breathtaking, it had been too long since Jace had last seen him. "Luke." Simon simply said, the word explanatory itself. "But he doesn't know about us being here. I didn't want to involve him, so I made my own plan. The guys whipped me into shape and here we are." Simon said, his eyes glinting when he tucked his gun into his holster. Jace eyed him. Simon looked badass and Jace couldn't deny that he looked really hot in the get up. Simon's tongue darted out, absentmindedly licking his lip ring and Jace followed the movement. When his eyes met Simon's, the brunette had a wicked smile on. Jace averted his gaze, trying not to get too excited.
