Checking the other side, I can see that it's a bedroom like the other but it has gray wallpapers.
There are dolls being dislayed on the wall and they're like the mini version of the survivors. I can also see mini versions of the hunters. There's a little Hastur, Michiko, Wu Chang and Violetta. I can see that almost everyone is there except mine.
Does the owner of this room, hate me? As I was pondering over the question, a door opened and came out a young man with wet hair and a towel hanging lowly on his hips.
Aesop Carl, the embalmer. I know him because he is one of the survivors who would prefer looking rather than talking. I can feel my cheeks going warm as I stare at his body. His beautiful gray hair is untied that droplets are falling over his neck.
I have always thought that he's more on the healthy thin side like the acrobat but now I know I am deeply wrong. His body is more on the lean side but he has muscles and he has a six-pack abs visible.
I guess he works out a lot seeing the beautiful lit body. I can feel my face going red at what I am looking at.
He moves towards his closet door and opened it to get his night clothes. As I was waiting for him to closed the door back, I felt my nose itches and I released a light sneeze.
I froze and covered my mouth hoping he did not notice it. I looked back and I can see that he has worn his pajama now and that he is looking around the area.
He might have heard me.
I was about to move back when he stared right into my eyes and smirked. And as if nothing happened, he went back to looking around before wearing his upper pajama. He closed his closet door then went to the table below the wall rack where the dolls are being displayed.
He didn't see me right? I mean, it's dark in here and there's no way he has found out.
I slowly moved back and crawled to where I came from. I am afraid that the embalmer has seen me. But at the same time, he might just be guessing and did that to scare me.
After arriving at the attic, I descended the stairs and passed through the mini door before hiding it behind my unused boxes.
I closed the closet door after putting the flashlight on the side and went to the bed.Because of what happened, I am afraid for tomorrow's match.
I just hope that it's all my imagination.
I don't know what time sleep has consumed me, I just remembered waking up to Ann's knocking and here I am, in front of the bathroom mirror brushing my teeth.
Ah, I can see that eyebags are visible on my eyes.
So that it won't be obvious I decided to use the concealer Michiko gave me when I got a bad case of pimples once.
After doing my routine inside the bathroom, I then went to my closet and check my clothes.
Shall I wear red today? Maybe not. I am not in the mood to even bring my camera but it is a must.
With a sigh, I just wore my usual blue and then picked up my still broken camera from the table.
I then went outside my room and locked the door. While in the hallway, I met Luchino who is blocking the stairs.
What is happening now?
I tried peeking at the side and I saw little Robbie swaying his axe down below.
"What did you, Luchino?" I sighed as I tapped the reptile's left shoulder. He turned to my side and smirked.
"Told him that he will never grow up." Luchino said, obviously tempting me to join the fight. Is it even a fight?
But anyways, to Robbie and myself, height is sensitive topic because let's be real, even if I'm an adult already I am still the smallest hunter excluding Robbie who is still a child.
"Very mature of you, Luchino." I replied uninterested in what they are doing.
"Looks like someone got out of the wrong side of the bed." Luchino replied dragging the 's' in his words. Isn't it too early for games like this?
If you have been living long enough with these kind of people, you can already treat it as playing games with immature adults.
Is this what Martha has been going through? I can slowly relate to her now.
"Look, I am in no mood to argue with my height. I know I am small already so please let me pass." I said with a sigh as I passed through Luchino's left shoulder. Perks of being 'small.'
"Also, Robbie. Please don't listen to what that lizard is saying. You will still grow up." I added as soon as I am in front of the child. I patted his head, which is covered with his sack and then proceeded to the kitchen.
I can see Ann and Xiu Bi'an arranging the tables and laying the dishes down with Fan Wujiu sitting on his seat with a newspaper in hand.
Michiko is drinking her tea and Burke with his coffee. Smiley is laughing at his drink and Leo waving a letter. I think that letter is for myself.
I went to my seat after receiving the letter from Leo.
"Is this for today's match?" I asked as I opened the letter.
"Yes." Leo replied, getting toasts and bacon into his plate.
Robbie and Luchino has entered by this time and I can see that the kid is not sulking anymore since he has happily drank his milk.
After successfully opening the letter I read what was written inside.
Good day, Photographer
Here are your survivors for the first match of the day:
Emma Woods, the Gardener
Emily Dyer, the Doctor
Tracy, the Mechanic
Aesop Carl, the EmbalmerRemember the rules and Have fun.
The Host
After reading the letter, I don't know if I should be happy that I can finally have a talk with the mechanic or be wary since the embalmer is a part of the match.
I hope he did not notice me last night. I also can't forget his well toned abs.
Damn it, Joseph! Stop imagining it!
I closed the letter and then picked up some sausages and bacon for my breakfast. I also picked up a toast and bit it, not noticing the worried look Michiko is giving me.
