Chapter 12

You heard your stomach growl as you haven't eaten for days. You miscalculated. You weren't really an expert in the field of navigation. You thought that it wasn't really that far so you packed some food for a day or two. But no, it turned out that it was farther than you anticipated. You stumbled upon a land formation, it wasn't realy an island since it's so small. It has a few trees and luck for you, they are fruit-bearing trees.

'Lucky!' You docked on it and immediately started to eat the fruits. You saw this fruit before and ate them so you know they were safe to eat. On top of it, they're delicious. You grabbed another fruit and closed your eyes to savor the flavor of it. But, you were greeted by a disgusting bitter flavor. You want to spit it out but you already swallowed it. "What was that? Is this fruit rotten?"

You paled when you saw the appearance of the fruit. "No way. Is this a d-d-devil fruit?!"

Not that you didn't want to have a devil fruit, you were just afraid of having a useless devil fruit. You breathed in and out, and repeated that cycle over and over again. "Calm down, (Y/N). It's not like it's guaranteed that it's useless, right? And it probably depends on how the user use it. For now, you must focus on your task."

You grabbed the fruits and put them in a sac. Once done, you hopped on the boat, carrying the sac of fruits. The boat tumbled for a bit and you immediately clung to it, "Ahh! I'll drown! Luffy, how do you deal with this?!"

After a few days, you finally reached Rin's hometown island and docked on it. It was much more crowded than before. You skimmed around the town, sometimes buying some foods. You used the money that your mother gave you 10 years ago since when you tried donating it to Ace's and Sabo's Pirate Funds, they wouldn't accept it. You haven't really used it since mostly, you get your necessities from the forest for free. You also bought some foods, an empty book, some bottle of ink, dip pen, papers, adhesive, a Transponder Snail, a Cameko and some printing machine that they put in the Cameko.(dunno what's that called but I saw it in the anime. It's like a machine that you put in the back of the snail. The one they used to print bounties.)

'Ah, it was more expensive than I thought...' You looked at your wallet. You found a library and went inside it. It has tons of books in it. You looked around and searched for a book. You sneakily snuck into the 'Staff Only Room'. There were marines guarding it but you managed to get in. 'There is it! The Devil Fruit Encyclopedia! It's seems worn out and out of date though...'

FOLD-FOLD FRUIT
The Fold-Fold Fruit grants the user the ability for themselves or part of themselves to fold into different shapes or forms. The user can also fold any inanimate objects that they've touched.

'It doesn't have much information in it...' You thought. You skimmed the book and something caught your eye, 'Curse-Curse Fruit? Oh, this looks cool too...'

There were a lot of confidential books or list inside so no wonder it was guarded by the marines. You heard some footsteps coming into your direction and you quickly hid, covering your mouth.

"Who's there?!" The marine looked but saw no one. "Is it just my imagination?"

Once the marine left, you quickly got out of the library. You walked around the town and saw a familiar blue locks. You felt like you've seen him before. You called out, "Rin?"

"Yes?" He turned around. Not recognizing you, he cocked his head, "Sorry, but have I met you before?"

You giggled, "It's me, (Y/N)!"

"No way, is it really you?!" He said in disbelief and you nodded. "It's been so so long, (Y/N)! I'm really glad that your doing well! So, what are you doing here?"
