being a leader comes with scenarios that back you up against the wall and force your hand to work with what was given you. that you have to go through extreme sacrifices and complications in order to attain your goal.

that's what had happen to bang chan.

from a stranger's point of view, he's just a childhood friend who had sworn to protect the boy that would bring hope and a brighter future to their dull lives.

but, on the grand scheme of things, he was more than that.

he wasn't just anybody, he was a vital player in this game of chess that they had been playing for so long.

and he wasn't gonna go down without a fight, but most importantly, he wasn't planning on losing.

he had a plan. well, woojin did. but he helped with it. it was a plan nonetheless.

a stupid one at that but he was confident enough to carry it out and that they'd be able to do it.

'they're watching us closely, we don't have the luxury of planning out loud so that this would be our only way to communicate.' woojin told him via telepathy as chan nodded.

'how do we tell the others?' chan asked as woojin subtly shooked his head.

'we can't let everyone know without making it too obvious. it's just you and me here channie, hyunjin too but it's just us.' woojin answered.

'what do need to do?'

'we have to make them think they're winning, we lull them into a sense that we're falling apart and make them at ease.'

'how?'

"this isn't necessary." woojin told him but chan scoffed, "what do you know about the necessary?"

"do i have to repeat that i'm a psychic every five seconds or?" woojin sassed.

"you might be a psychic, woojin." chan told him, "but i'm his protector, i am his guardian, and i'm the only one he has left. so excuse me for doing what i think is necessary."

"you don't understand, this is-"

"SHUT UP!" chan growled at him, "you don't know what it's like! you have NO IDEA what it's like to stay in the sidelines while i watch him lay everything down on the line."

"i'm trying to protect you." woojin urged him with his pleading eyes, "please, chan. see reason!"

"and i'm trying to protect all of YOU." chan countered.

"by doing what exactly?" woojin snarked at him, "by doing something fucking stupid?"

"it may seem stupid to you, but for me it's just me showing how much he means to me so fuck off." chan snapped at him before he walked away.

as chan walked away, a voice in his head spoke to him, "they bought it. we're good to go."

'hyung, is this really gonna work?' chan thought.

"positive," chan smiled as he felt the grin the older must've been wearing, "trust hyungie alright?"

and that was all he needed to hear.

'felix is outside with a few blood demons, you should go out and confront them.' woojin instructed to chan as he subtly gave the aussie a nod as said boy excused himself for a breath of fresh air.

soon enough, he had been confronted by the other aussie and the plan was set in motion.

"what the fuck do you want?"
