Dangerous Truth

I hurried home just to make myself some alone time. I called my friend Teni and told her the good news about my interview. Turns out she also had success with one of her projects she was working on. Teni is a very smart girl and a very scary one too, only when you mess around with her. Teni didn't need to apply for companies she had hers. When she was sixteen, she was offered a laboratory from the high council since her uncle was the high council number six.

I got home around five just in time for dinner. I felt so bad for Marcus because we were both planning this day. The reason why the interview is such a big deal is because once you turn eighteen, you are required to get a side job because you will leave your parents' house after a year when you turn nineteen. You only get one chance to get the interview. According to Detyn City Laws you are only to be accepted if you have a high or perfect GPA. Which I have a High GPA with only a little low. I was one of the only students who got a high GPA. I was so confused why Marcus didn't get in we both got high scores and were very intelligent. I went to sleep waiting for my first day of my job. I got a call the next day from Marcus telling me that the reason he didn't get the place was because all the slots were full and that the last one was taken by me, because I had a higher score than him. I felt guilty because It was my fault that Marcus did not get his slot.

He told me he wasn't mad and how happy he was for me. He also told me that he would work for his dad who is a general at the Detyn Army Services. I was happy he found something he liked.

"So, are you at home right now?" Marcus asked.

"Yes why? Do you want to come over?"

"No never mind I have to go bye" Marcus replied as he hung up the phone before I could say anything else.

"Valentin!" yelled my father which he never does.

I replied in a scared but confused tone. "We have to talk" he said. My father told me how they were going to get rid of me because of how his business is growing. I was so confused but it all made sense. My father's business was very poor at first, but when I started getting awards for my schoolwork and my society involvement it made more sense, they were profiting of me. The more successful I got the more successful they got. The council was making the parents rich not because of their jobs or their business but for their kids' knowledge and involvement. It made more sense why the girl and family from my second-grade class was trying to move because they were aware of everything in the society.

"You guys are monsters" I yelled at them with horror on my face.

"Valentin Jerry Cherezov! How dare you speak to your parents like that? We made you who you are" My mother replied with anger on her face.

"No! How dare you use me. Taking away my childhood fun telling me to work just so you can have all of this. Then you tell me you pay for everything when I was the one who puts food on the table, yet I don't even get one credit for it. Now your kicking me out of my own house." I said to them in a bold tone.

"How dare you speak to us like that!" my mother yelled at me after she slapped my face.

"Get out!" I said with anger. My father told me that I should calm down that I only had three days till I leave. Turns out the whole when you turn nineteen you leave was a lie. Whoever did not get a job was taken to the cleaning service group where they clean streets buildings. Then it dawned on me 'Marcus'.

Suddenly there was a knock on my door. I opened the door to see who it was, but the door exploded before I could open it. There stood a figure wearing all black holding an ice piercer and expensive weapon. The figure told me to put my hand in the air, but I refused until the figure pointed the weapon to me my parents ran away or hid somewhere. I recognized the figures voice it sounded like a male.
