THE BETRAYAL
chapter sixteen

it was past midnight, but a certain grey-haired beauty hasn't retired to his sleeping quarters yet. he's currently at the indoor mini garden inside the trinity's headquarters.

this boy of course is no other than kim taehyung. only in his silky red robe with a glass of untouched milk in his hand. he only visit this garden when he's upset. it consists of only roses, blood red roses to be precise—his favorite. it made him feel closer to aphrodite, it gives him comfort and that's why he's currently sitting in one of the benches inside the small garden. his eyes held questions that awakened emotions he never had before.

remembering his encounter with jeon jungkook in the woods, he remembered how happy he felt. he enjoyed the younger boy's company, every moment with him was precious—the way he blushes that contrasted his manly physique, his shy behavior, his bunny smile, how he made taehyung feel special. he loved every bit of it.

however, he's starting to doubt the man's intentions. is this really him? or is this a facade?

taehyung wouldn't have these questions if he hadn't seen something that has been bothering him lately. the day he helped hoseok, when he looked into the latter's memories. he saw it, he saw everything. he finally knew why all of a sudden four mysterious demigods showed up to the academy. he knew that they were here to capture them. he felt betrayed.

"angel." taehyung's thoughts were interrupted by the familiar voice of his oldest hyung. "hyung." he greeted, but did not look back.

"what are you doing here? you should be slee— wait are you crying taehyung?!" seokjin crouched down and held taehyung's face. his eyes met the younger's golden orbs staring right at him, the warm liquid flowing endlessly.

taehyung didn't even knew he was crying already until seokjin started wiping his tears. he looked right at his hyung's worried eyes and sobbed even harder. as if on cue, jin felt the younger hug him as the boy burried his face in the older's neck. "what happened, angel?" he asked while stroking the younger's hair.

tae didn't move an inch. moments after, his loud sobs turned into hiccups. taehyung sat up straight wiping his tears. seokjin sat beside the younger and waited for him to speak. "they're here to capture us. the new students." he said.

he waited for an agitated reaction from jin, but it didn't came. so he looked at his hyung. "i know, angel." seokjin smiled timidly at the younger. taehyung looked at him as if he had grown wings. "how?" he asked confused.

"it doesn't matter. is that why you were upset?"

instead of answering he just nodded and looked away. "i trusted him, we trusted them." said the younger, voice slightly shaking. "i'm worried for jiminnie, hyung. i saw hoseok's memory with him. hyungie, i don't want a man to hurt jiminnie again. he won't be able to handle it. please hyung." taehyung said pleaded holding onto his hyung as he started panicking and rambling about how jimin won't be able to take the betrayal.

"angel, look at me." seokjin said looking straight into taehyung's eyes. "he won't be dealing with it because we won't be telling him just yet." the younger almost protested but the older shushed him.

"tomorrow, cover for me. i'll be visitting our sister academy. i'll talk about this matter with irene. don't worry about jimin, okay?" and when his dongsaeng nodded he hugged him again. "what are we going to do with them?" he whispered eyes closed, face still buried in soekjin's shoulders.

"just don't act suspiciously. i know you're hurt, but you have to hide it." jin felt the younger nod.

"you should go take some sleep now. i'll take you to your room and will sing for you." seokjin knew taehyung loved it whenever he sings for him, it always reminded the boy of his mother, aphrodite. he smiled at the older.

when they arrived at taehyung's room, he guided the boy to lie down. he started stroking the younger's silver locks as he spoke. "by the way, i'll tell jennie & jisoo to visit you soon. i bet you missed them." with the mention of his twin sisters, his boxy smile once again made it to his beautiful face as he nodded eagerly.

jin chuckled fascinated of how fast taehyung's mood changes with just the mention of his sisters. seokjin swore to protect this boy until his final breath. as promised, seokjin lulled him to sleep with a lullaby he loved very much. then, he fell asleep.

meanwhile, two hours earlier, in jungkook's room.

"i swear all of them are assholes! how did those jerks became his lovers anyway. he doesn't deserve them!" jungkook grumbled as he told yugyeom what happened earlier with his supposed to be good day. his brows furrowing, expressing the anger shown on his handsome face.

yugyeom laughed ignoring the glare he's gotten from his fuming friend. he sat down guiding a glass of lemon juice to his lips before he spoke.

"my friend, those men may be assholes, but they love taehyung genuinely. it's natural instinct to be possessive over someone you love, especially when he's the kim taehyung. i mean you would too, right?" jungkook looked away not being able to admit that yugyeom was right.

"does taehyung love them back?" he asked instead, hesitantly.

"of course, it's obvious by how fond he is with them. just maybe not to the extent that can be compared to the love eros have for psyche." he answered with a shrug. "you know kook, just a little advice. if you ever make it in the gem's harem, avoid engaging in fights with them. taehyung hates violence."

"you don't need to worry, i'm not brave enough to pick fights." jungkook said it like it was a joke, but yugyeom knew that he was insulting himself. he was sad that jungkook thought of himself as weak and a coward. "can you tell me about them? taehyung's lovers."

yugyeom looked at him. "there's nothing much. let me think." the other said rubbing his chin.

"well...you got jackson wang. taehyung's number 1. he leads the academy's army. he likes calling taehyung, princess. he's very possessive, but usually calm & collected.

next you got wonho. he's the gem's sweetest lover they say, as he's always seen doing the most romantic things for taehyung and as you know, he's very prideful.

hongseok, that man is very quite, but dangerous. out of all of them he's the short-tempered one and has serious anger issues.

dongho on the other hand, is the fair one. he can be very possessive as well, but he's usually very gentle and just focused on taehyung most of the time.

jongin, the man you met recently is the cocky one. he's the one who's always picking fights with the gem's other lovers, usually with hongseok.

lastly, the youngest, lucas. he didn't participate in the tournament, but is personally handpicked by jin. the reason? no one knew." yugyeom said dismissively and looked at jungkook waiting for further questions.

"so like you said, they're all possessive and some are hot-headed. so is it even possible for them not to punch each other's faces?" jungkook asked curiously.

"well, the leader sorted that out. everyone knew this, but the gem. seokjin doesn't really care if they're fighting, just not in front of taehyung. they can punch each other, but only in places that taehyung wouldn't see the bruises. the last time they fought, the leader of the trinity humiliated them. if they are to make the gem upset again over that matter, he will dismiss the harem." yugyeom said finishing the last bit of lemon juice he was drinking.

"and they never did it again?" the son of poseidon had a disbelieving look.

"partly. i mean, they still do, just without taehyung knowing." yugyeom just shrugged and stood up. "anyway, it's almost midnight. i'm going to my room. don't worry too much." he patted jungkook's shoulders before exiting the latter's room.

jungkook released a sigh and let himself drift to the world of dreams in hopes of dreaming about the beautiful boy.
