"Pat what are you doing?" Mary asks.
"What, I can't take a walk on the streets?" Pat rolls her eyes.
"Mary is this your friend?" Josh asks.
"Oh no, we could never be." Pat says.
"We were, until she and her other bee decided we were boring."
"We?" Josh asks.
"Yeah, me and Cindy." Mary responds.
"Uhh, bee, watch your mouth!" Pat shouts.
"What are you gonna do?" Mary walks up to her and Josh gently pulls her arm to step back.
"Leave her alone!" Josh shouts.
"Aww, your boyfriend has to fight your battles for you, Mary grow up, we will never be friends."
"Noted." Mary rolls her eyes.
"By the way, he's cute." Pat says referring to Josh.
"Your not my type." Josh answers quickly and pat rolls her eyes.
"You hear that pat, your not his type and maybe you're forgetting who your dealing with, never talk to me like that again, you don't want to see the other side of me, trust me." Mary finishes and pat just walks away.
"You okay?" Mary asks Josh.
"Yeah I'm fine, by the way I'm supposed to ask you that." Josh jokes.
"Mary don't let her get to your head okay, you're too strong for that okay?" Josh says looking into Mary's eyes.
"How are you so sure that I am strong, you don't even know me."
"I don't, but I want to, so don't let her get to your head."
"Okay."
A few hours later-
"Back so soon." Mary mum says as Mary walks in the house."Mom I was gone for about three hours, what are you talking about?"
"I know but still."
"Mom this conversation is over." Mary says and runs upstairs.
Few minutes later-
"Mary are you okay?" Mary's mum knocks on the door."Mom I don't wanna talk right now."
"Don't let Pat and Cindy get to your head okay?"
"How did you know?"
"I just guessed, now who troubled my daughter?"
"It was Pat."
"Mary you're too strong to let that happen, trust me. Don't let what any of them say get to your head, I'm downstairs, I'll let you know when foods ready." She says and walks back downstairs.
While Mary's laying down on her bed thinking about how Josh said the same thing to her about her being too strong a few hours ago and decides to call him.
"Mary are you okay?" Josh voice booms into the speaker.
"Yeah, why you think something's wrong?" Mary asks.
"Nothing, just asking."
"Oh."
"You wanna maybe go out sometimes." Josh asks after a few moments of silence.
"Really?" Mary asks in shock.
"Yeah, I mean, if you want."
"Okay."
"Okay."
"Mary food's ready!" Mary's mum calls from downstairs.
"Uh, I gotta go, talk to you later?" Mary asks Josh.
"Yeah sure." He responds.
Mary hangs up the phone and went downstairs to her mother.
Two minutes later-
"Why are you so quiet?" Mary asks her mother."Why are you so quiet?" Marys mum repeats.
"Mom!" Mary whines.
"Mary!" Mary's mum mocks.
Both of them bursts into laughter.
"Don't be so hard on yourself." Mary's mum says.
"I am not being hard on myself."
"Yes you are."
"No am not."
"Okay, but know this, there's something you've been keeping in and you're afraid to let out, you know you're thinking that it's your fault why you and Cindy aren't friends with Pat and ben anymore, you are my daughter, it's not only my job to protect you, but it is my job to tell you the truth, I see right through you, I know when you're afraid and when you're not, when you're doubting yourself and when you're not, this isn't you, you Don't let anyone get inside of your head, you are very strong."
"How are you so sure?" Tears began to flow from Mary's eyes.
"Because you are Mary Patterson, anything that forms in your way that bothers you, you push it away or you fight but right now, right now you're giving up, so please don't give up." Mary's mum says then goes into her room.
Mary knew her mother was right, so she took out her phone and called Cindy.
"Mary are you okay?" Cindy asks through the speaker.
"Why everyone keeps asking that, yes I am fine."
"Oh, what's up."
"You have anything on your list for tomorrow?"
"No why?"
"Because Cindy, we are gonna throw a party." Mary says into the phone.
Mary's all stressed out with everything that's going on so she know that this was the right decision for her right now, or so she thinks.
