donghyuck was embarrassed.
if he wasn't embarrassed yesterday when he went home and thought of the boy, he was definitely embarrassed now.
he hadn't told his friends about yesterday yet, feeling too flustered about it. but they could tell something was up by his pouty demeanor, his jokes had been ruder than usual. the boys kind of butthurt about it. so when donghyuck declined going to the lake after school, they were worried.
"haechan, what's your deal lately?" jaemin spoke up finally, raising a brow and sipping his water. the boy tensed, pouting "m just busy...afterschool, why cant you get that." he shot back, huffing. "c'mon dude, you're literally being a complete as-" jisung began, chenle quickly slapping his hand over the others mouth. "no cursing ji, you're like-five." he scolded lightly, then turning to the other "but he is right, what's up?" he asked as jisung pried the boys hand off of his mouth. "c'mon haechannie, tell us. what're you even doing after school?" jeno said, nudging his shoulder.
donghyuck looked at jeno, ears heating up a bit at his thoughts yesterday. Jeno was attractive though, anyone could see. held his breath, biting his lip a bit, finally breaking as he huffed. "k so i went to the office yesterday." he mumbled, looking away from their curious eyes. "okay? you go to the office every other day." jisung said, a little annoyance in his voice. "but i, um. i'm in really big trouble now." dongyuck said, brows furrowed a bit. "a-you did something without us!? and even then, what was so bad about it-" chenle began, jisung putting his hand over the others mouth this time. "its because of my grades le." donghyuck shot back at the boy, getting a bit defensive. "but um, i-" he began again, "i have a tutor for the rest of the year."
it was a crackle, then a little peep, and then the whole table was laughing. chenle's high-pitched laughter mixed with jisung's deep one. renjun and jaemin somewhere in the mix. jaemin was slapping the table, hunched over in amusement. "you-you." renjun tried to say, too constricted by laughter to talk. "damn, so-you're "busy" after school for the rest of the year." jeno teased, donghyuck frowning. "you guys are asses." he muttered, crossing his arms. "hey what classroom?" renjun asked, fighting back a smile. "280." he quickly said back. "woah channie, the abandoned classroom?" jeno said, suddenly stopping his laughter. hyuck nodded. "its been locked for like-forever, no one can get in there-oh god...he's tryna fuck!" he exclaimed, the whole table booming in laughter.
"hey-wheres mark?" jaemin asked, looking around. "oh, hes at the '127' table." renjun said, a little saltiness to his words. "made really good friends with johnny over the summer." he explained, huffing. "wha-the johnny?" chenle said, shocked, receiving a small 'mhm' from the other. donghyuck looked over at this..."127" table, oh god it was him. taeil sat there, smiling widely at another boy as he pretended to kiss him, donghyuck tensing at the sight. they seemed so...close. too close in donghyuck's opinion as the boy now hugged him. "ayo haechan you good?" mark said, when did he get here? "nah, channie here has tutoring for the rest of the year." jisung teased, donghyuck shooting him a warning glance. "oh, weird, taeil hyung said he was tutoring someone today." mark hummed, eating a fry. donghyuck tensed at his name. "oh cool." he said through gritted teeth. "i uh, i gotta go." he said, getting up quickly, "what why-"
saved by the bell

donghyuck lugged up the last flight of stairs, seeing a short hallway. the sun shone through the windows, lighting up the hall with a heavenly bright light. he walked down the hallway, steps heavy. he finally reached the classroom. the boy hesitated as he reached for the handle, jenos words playing in his head. but common sense saved him, c'mon, it was taeil.
donghyuck slammed the sliding door to the side, startling the boy inside. he jumped, head shooting towards the other, making his hair fly up and his eyes go wide. cute. "oh, donghyuck-ah." he said, smiling excitedly. donghyuck walked over to the table he sat at, flipping the chair around and sitting on it backwards. taeil was practically bouncing in his seat. "why are you so happy." he said, annoyed. "i uh... i thought you wouldn't come." taeil muttered, blushing a bit. god, he was like an anime girl. wasn't he his hyung?
"okay well i came, what're we doing." donghyuck said sourly. "oh um," taeil's eyes scurried around, quickly grabbing the others file. he opened it, filing through and grabbing his quarter grades and sliding them in front of the other. donghyuck looked at it blankly, seeing a great wall of f's, and...oh an a. "um, as you can see your grades are not the best." taeil began, looking wide eyed at the paper. "you could say their shit." donghyuck said flatly, looking up at the other. "l-language please." taeil said quietly, cringing at the bad word. donghyuck opened his mouth to protest-"uh-s-so i looked at your work, and the only thing you're stuggling with is math." taeil interrupted, pointing to one of his many f's.
"who the fuck is good at math?" donghyuck asked, taeil wincing a bit at the word, "s-stop saying bad words please." he said, frustration evident on his godly features. "and um, alot of people are good at math, and you could be too!" taeil said, mood brightening. "now take this benchmark please." he then slapped a packet infront of the other. donghyuck frowned heavily, grabbing the packet and examining it. "we'll work on this the whole week, kay?" taeil said softly, expecting a larger reaction. "k." donghyuck said looking back down at the test. "and if i don't get anything..." he then added, staring at the problem.
"i'll be here to help, don't worry."
