Its the year 3044, and the world as we know it no longer exists. A long time ago, someone made a mistake in their quest to create the altimate man, a man without death, without sickness, without gender, without age and ultimately with the intelligence to save the world.
But like all quest, mistakes were made, lives lost and lies told to cover everything. Till this day no one knows what really happened, all they know is ,one day they woke up to find their loved ones dead, and then a few minutes later alive and then they themselves became dead and alive. They called the Creatures resurated Leavers. A being created from death and born a new, with only one purpose, to feed on every living thing in its part.
The world was in chaos, at first it was because those things, leavers, were out there feeding on everything living in their path, be it animal or man, it had no prejudice, so long as there was a heartbeat, they went after it. Those killed, well, eaten by them was regenerated again to become them,leavers, and went on to kill others who becomes leavers as well, and so the circle continued.
No one was prepared, no one saw it coming, at least that's what they told us. So every man was left to fight for himself and survive. The first wave, everyone ran, they fought on the defensive, trying to find a safe place for them and their families. And since the leavers were slow, even though they had strength, and persistence. Their slow nature was what saved people, gave them a chance to run as far away as possible into the woods. The leavers remained in the cities, then towns and villages. Literally anywhere with a community of people, they were found hunting for food, day and night. So people started creating settlements, with what was left of society to start up again.
Some remaining form of government headed this places, as they went back into the cities to kill the leavers and get their city back.
This creatures were only killed when their brains were destroyed, for whatever reason, it was just so. Some said its because they had no soul and the only thing controlling them was their dead brain, that had some parasite leaving in it, which was never found till this day , in the destroyed leavers brains.
