"You're like, really pretty."
ᛡᛡᛡJULIET WOKE UP THE NEXT morning with the warm yellow light from the sun filling the cozy room. Remus had his arm wrapped around and the other resting on his bare stomach. When she opened her eyes she was greeted with the sight of a peaceful looking boy as he slept. Juliet gazed at him with adoration and shifted slightly, feeling the fabric of the black shirt Remus had her put on move and get bunch up under her sides.
"You're staring." The blissful silence was shattered into pieces when the rough morning voice of Remus Lupin broke through. Juliet felt a small smile grow on her face, "I'm gazing, It's supposed to be romantic." Remus opened his eyes and looked down at her. Juliet had her head almost on top of his shoulder she was so close to him. "Has anyone every told you how absolutely stunning you are?" His question cause pink to tint her cheeks and she giggled lightly. "Not in the way you have, Mr. Lupin."
Remus turned so his body was parallel with hers, facing each other and staring as if they were the only to people to exist the world. He raised his hand to softly caress her face, feeling her soft skin against his hands. This felt surreal to him.
Months ago Remus Lupin would have considered himself someone unable to be loved by another. Not in the friend way, like the love he feels from the Marauders, but in the soul touching way he felt towards Juliet. Yes, he would admit it, and it was soon, he knew that, but he also knew nothing could be too soon when at any second something could happen and she would drop. The thought of having to live the rest of his life without Juliet Reed terrified Remus to no ends.
Juliet was this star, glowing and burning indescribable fires under her skin, and it begged to break free and show what it could be. Show how beautiful and blinding it could, and how if you got too close, it would burn you. Leave you with uncovered scars. And if you got to close, you would die as the flames licked your soul. She was as dangerous as she was loving. It was a horrifying combination.
Remus had never met anyone like her, and he didn't think he would after she was gone. Some people are just too extraordinary to live a full life, to bless too many people, to have so many people know what if felt like having their souls kissed by them. Remus just didn't want to know a life where his soul wasn't being kissed by hers anymore. But somethings are just inevitable. He hated that.
"We should get up." Juliet broke the silence and started moving to get out of the bed. Remus groaned and covered his face with his blanket. "But why? We don't have anything to do, we could lay here all morning!" He whined. Juliet chuckled as she slipped on the shorts she was wearing last night. "I don't think anyone else is up, we could make your parents breakfast. Give them a good surprise. Plus, I have to go dress shopping with Narcissa at 11."
Remus rolled his eyes even though she couldn't see him. It wasn't that he disliked Narcissa, he thought she was rather nice, and she was Juliet's best friend after all. Remus just wanted to lay in bed with her for as long as possible, talk and do whatever they wanted. "Okay, fine," He huffed before throwing his legs over the side of his.

Hope Lupin stared at the scene in shock. Remus, her son, was cooking and taking orders from Juliet as she prepared other items for cooking. The two of them laughing as they did small stupid things. Remus kept throwing the pan handle back and forth between his hands, making lightsaber noises each time he made contact with it. Juliet was struggling to breathe as she whipped eggs and milk together for scrambled eggs. "What are you too doing?" A smile grew on her face as the two teens looked over and stopped laughing. "Did we wake you? I'm so sorry!" Juliet instantly rushed to apologize, but Hope waved her off. "No, you didn't dear... Why are you two up so early?"
It was only 7:30, but they were accustomed to rising early for breakfast and classes. "I wanted to surprise you... You and Lyall have been so kind, and I'm so grateful you're letting me spend christmas with you all." Juliet placed the bowl of eggs down and gave Hope a kind smile. Hope's eyes started to water. Remus felt joy bubble in his chest when his mother pulled Juliet into a bone crushing hug. "You're such a sweetheart, Juliet." Hope placed one of her hands on the back of head and rocked her.
Juliet giggled and returned the tight embrace. The hug was warm, and held so many emotions that Juliet could feel radiating off of the woman. This woman could make an empty house home with the amount of love she carried. Juliet admired that so much. Truly, the young girl marvel's at Hope Lupin. She's everything Juliet feels like a mother should be. Something she never got but thank Merlin Remus has.
"Mum, Jules should probably start cooking the eggs," Remus speaks up, causing Hope to let out a dramatic gasp. "Of course! Please, forgive me!" Hope's tone made more giggles come out of Juliet.
"Who are you and what have you done with my son!" Lyall Lupin's voice broke out as he stood not far behind his wife. Remus sighed dramatically and looked over towards Juliet. "Are you sure you don't want to run for the hills yet? You have your keys." Juliet could tell he was joking around but she poked him anyways. "Remus Lupin!" She tried her best to sound scolding, and gave him a mocking glare. It only help up for so long before the burst into laughter.
Lyall walked closer to his Muggle wife and wrapped his arms around her waist and kissing the crown of her head. They both stared at the kids as they continued to finish their cooking and laughing every time they made eye contact. Hope felt good looking at them together, even though, one, she could see a very obvious hickey that was failed to covered on Juliet's neck (which she was not please about in the slightest), but two, Juliet's appearance almost matched hers.
A visible illness crawled its way onto both their skins, seeping in and draining not just the color, but the bright feelings and subtle tones you wouldn't notice otherwise. Was there something about Juliet they didn't know? Hope knew the girl was from the higher end of the Pureblood community, but she had seen the spot where the Dark Mark would be according to her husband, so it couldn't be related to that. Maybe she was just ill, it was, after all, the winter season. Winter colds happened twice every year to Hope for as long as she could remember, maybe it was like that.
Nevertheless, it drove small bits of panic into the mother's heart.

Juliet pecked Remus on the lips shortly before she left the Lupin residence. "I'll be back soon," She told him with a smile. "Good, I'll miss you until you return." Remus smiled back. Juliet giggled and turned to leave. "Be safe!" Hope called out from the door.
"I love you." Juliet mouthed before apparating away.
