I read Ashleigh's text first. "Are you okay? Is everything okay? Why are you not answering?! Please respond. R. U. Okay"? The text read. "Quickly I responded with "Yes I am okay, did you see the news? Some old man did this"! "Oh my god"! Ashleigh wrote back. "What is it". I quickly replied. "I gtg" The text read. Quickly I open up my text from Clark which said "I know this just happened and you may be upset bit are we still on for tonight"? He repeated twenty times! "Sure, if you want". I replied. I started to walk up stairs to my room. I go straight to my closet which had a mirror placed on it. Looking in it, starring at myself. Looking at my curly brown hair, tan skin and my not so straight teeth. Judging each aspect of myself. I grab my phone out of my pocket and go straight on facebook to see a whole new page in dedication to the people who got shot today. Almost all the kids in the class room were killed other just traumatized. I get up and make my way to my bed. "Joshua, get down here! If you are home you better be doing chores". Ignoring my mother I covered my face with my sheets. "Joshua"! My mother yelled as her voice got closer. "Joshua get downstairs and do the dishes"! My mother ordered me as she barged into my room! "Do you not know what happened! Or do you not care"! I screamed back at her as she stood there shocked! I had never risen my voice before until now...! "What is your excuse this time! Are you sick! Did your head fall off! Did an alien invade your school and kill everyone"! "No! An old man barged in shooting people"! I screamed at her cutting her off! "What do you mean"? She asked. "exactly what I said". I mumbled. My mother quickly Walked downstairs. She went straight to the TV and she noticed the headlines were "School shooting, little girl killed, Old man shot by police". She dropped to the floor and just sat, as time flown by Joshua woke up from his undisturbed slumber to show that the time was now six thirty. "Mom can you put on the news"? I asked awaiting an answer. Of course there had been no answer. As I walk downstairs, I notice my mother sitting on the floor. Absolutely still. "Are you okay"? I asked, no response from her...not even a blink. "I turned around to face the TV. The news was still on. I look at the time which now says seven and then looked back at the TV. "Good afternoon everyone, back to the horrific topic of today's shooting. We have found out all there is to know. The young girl was on a social media app called Twitter. She tweeted everyday, expressing her feelings. Her page got a lot of people's attention, roughly five thousand. As we scrolled down her feed we had noticed the man who had murdered these kids was actually following her and had favorited all if her tweets. She had posted her school name and her city giving the man an idea on were to find her! The man is now dead, but we believe this should be a wake up call to kids out there on social media. Be careful what you post, people are watching". The anchor women on the TV had informed her viewers. I grabbed the remote that was on the floor beside my mother and I turned off the TV. "I am going out I will be back soon". I go to the door and quickly put on my shoes and walk out side. The breeze was gentle as the sun was now setting. The orange and red contrast laid out the street. I pull out my blackberry and search for Ash in my contacts. I press call. The phone rang, as it was ringing I noticed something close by "Hello" Ashleigh had answered. I hung up the phone and walked towards the thing I saw move. I walk towards an ally. The ally was darker than the streets as there was two tall apartment buildings blocking the little amount of sun. Walking in the ally, I hear a noise. Two cans made a noise behind me. Quickly turning around to see what had made the noise. The thing making a noise was a black cat. The cat just looked at me as I stepped closer. "I won't hurt you" I whispered as I got closer and closer to the cat. When I got to the cat I picked him up. Looking for a collar but there was none. "You have to be hungry. You are coming home with me". I smiled and started walking back to my house. My phone starts ringing. I put the cat on my shoulder holding it with one hand. I grab my phone from my pocket to answer it. "Ash? What's up". "He Josh, some old guy keeps commenting on you photos...". Ashleigh said with a worried tone in her voice. "So"? I replied with no worry. "I found a cat though, he was in an ally and I'm going to keep him". I explained. "Joshua , I don't think you should take this lightly! A girl just got killed"! Ashleigh yelled trying to get her point across! "She let out her personal life. I have not! You don't need to worry". I assured her. Starting to walk home while listening to Ashleigh complain and worry about that old creepy man. When I got home my mom was at the table talking to some guy. "Hey...". I said to my mom and her new old friend. "Hi, you must be Joshua. Your mom has told me a lot about you" The old man said with a grin transpiring on his face. "Yes, I am. Hey Ashleigh I will call back" I informed her as I hung up the phone. "Not trying to be rude but who are you"? I asked hesitantly. "My name is Dylan". The old man said as he looked at my mom who was smiling at him. "Hey, are you a new friend of my moms". I asked hastily. "He just moved in the apartments across the street. Your short cut to school". My mother said as she was cleaning the dirty dishes. "Is that your cat, what's his name". Dylan asked pointing out the cat on his arm. "I actually found him in the ally, I didn't give him a name. I was going to take him up and clean him. Then name him". I informed Dylan. I smiled as I put the cat back in both arms. "If you take care of him and pay for him, I will let you keep him" My mother said gracefully. I could tell she needed a pet as well so I agreed. "It was nice meeting you Dylan". I said as I walked back upstairs. I make my way to the washroom and turn on the tub. The water slowly fills up. I gently put the cat in the water, he surprisingly didn't scratch me or try to jump out. He just sat there as I rinsed him off. "I really hope you don't have flees". I chuckled as I unplugged the bath tub. Bringing the cat out I put him under a towel I pulled out of the cupboards. Drying the cat off as I get up and wrap him in a towel. I open the door, standing out front of the door was Dylan. "Cats a really big responsibility" He said as he once again smiled creepily while maintaining to stare at me. "Uh Yea, I know". I stuttered. I quickly by pass him and make my way to my room. Before I shut my door I looked out and saw the old man still staring at me with a creepy smiled placed upon his face.I slam my door shut and place the cat on my bed. Quickly I go straight to my phone, I go on my Instagram page to see what Ashleigh was so concerned about. I noticed my pictures were liked and commented on by an old man. I click on the man to see who he was. When I go on his page I noticed the creepy old man who keeps liking and commenting on my photos was the same creepy old man who my mother had let in the house...Dylan!
