Stiles

After we patched up Roscoe, which took around four hours --I was impressed normally putting in a new windshield took a while but they weren't busy so they did it quickly, it was pretty cheap too, and they didn't do horrible, so I made a note to myself to come HERE next time my Jeep needed some work, not the expensive ass one in Beacon Hills-- we went out to dinner. It wasn't fancy but we got a big booth and had burgers, except for Jhene who I learned did not eat red meat, because she saw a baby cow die when being born and then had to be chainsawed in half, which she told with many dramatic hand motions.

I was eating my Burger and laughing at something stupid that the kids (Liam and Maliki) were doing when Derek changed the way he was sitting so he was leaning a lot more towards me, his knees touching mine and one of his feet pressing up against mine. I looked over at him, not thinking that he would even notice, but he was staring at me with those amazing eyes of his. I smirked and Jhene, who was on my left elbowed me. I elbowed her back. She pulled out her phone and texted me that both me and Derek had our hearts racing. I blushed and rolled my eyes at her. I could of sworn I saw Derek reading the texts over my shoulder, but when I looked over at him his eyes whipped up to my face, and he looked me straight in the eyes giving me another round of chills.

"What?" I asked nudging him with the knee that was already touching him.

"Nothing, Sti,"

Jhene gave me a giddy smile and I knew she was thinking HOLY SHIT! OH MY GOD, HE CALLED YOU STI! I mean, I was too. I stared at him for a second with a small smile and then looked down at my burger and took a big bite.

"So what do the flashes mean?" Maliki asked. "And what happens during them?" We all looked at Derek.

"I end up in a parallel world, and I'm attacked by, what we think" He gestured to himself and I, "Is a mix between an Anuk Kitay and a Rider. It seems that only certain people can bring me out of it," He told him.

"By certain people he means Stiles," Jhene clarified. I kicked her under the table. Derek glared at her.

"I actually was thinking, what if the reason Derek has the flashes is because he was meant to be taken, but for some reason, he wasn't where he was supposed to be when Scott and the girls got taken," I pondered.

"Where you where you supposed to be that day?" Liam asked. Derek's ears turned red.

"I was going to a meeting with Scott, but I was a bit late," He said.

"Where were you?" Cora asked. Derek looked intently at the table.

"I was, uh-" He looked up at me through his lashes, "Looking after someone," He said.

"Who?" Cora asked. I was pretty sure she knew, and if I was right, that he was looking after me, then maybe his feelings for me, if he had any, had been around a lot longer than he cared to admit. Had he been at my house, guarding me or something? He was a guard dog.  I thought to myself smirking, still looking at him.

"Someone important," He said, not breaking eye contact with me. He blushed and looked down. "It doesn't matter," He stated, looking down again.

"Well then why didn't they take Liam?" Cora asked.

"Yeah," Maliki put in. I chuckled at him under my breath. He was really fitting into this group, even though he was the youngest here: 15. Me and Scott weren't even dealing with werewolf matters until we were 16. It was only a year, but a year is a lot.

"Probably because I can't control my shifts yet. They don't want a rider who isn't always in control," He said glumly. Jhene started to protest and support him but Maliki cut in.
