The rain falls,
Tears from those who came before us,
Looking down upon the the land they once walked on,
Only to be washed ashore,
once more.

Oh god,
If you ever did decide to start over,
I did have a little advice,
Maybe keep the apple tree in another garden,
This time guarded by your angels,
And their swords of fire,
Blazing throughout the continent.

So that the serpent wouldn't poison Eve,
So that Eve wouldn't give it to Adam,
So that Cain wouldn't need to kill Abel,
So that Noah wouldn't need to build an Ark,
So that it wouldn't be hidden under Solomon's temple,
So that it wouldn't start all these mundane religious battles,
So that Galileo wouldn't know how to represent the Earth,
So that travellers wouldn't know how to extend and reach out to us,
So that it wouldn't fall on Newton,
So that it wouldn't create the eyes of the all knowing,
Starting with the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The apple led us to so many discoveries,
It built us planes,
It built us bombs,
It landed us in wars terrible,
It killed our economy,
It killed our people, our children,
We were bathing in blood,
As we buried our husbands, our sons, our brothers,
We cried,  we suffered,
We thirsted, for water, for love, for some peace, some affection,
A little bit of food to feed these people,
Our people.

But some people,
Were better of than others,
These people celebrated the invention,
of cars,
of penicillin,
of nuclear energy,
of computers and television.
They did sit on wooden chairs and drink the evening tea with their loved ones,
Oblivious to the world around them,
Ignorance, ignorance, ignorance.

The apple gave us a sense,
of hope,
of power,
It birthed a new religion,
New beliefs and science,
It created a new path for us to walk upon,
But it got us into another cold icy war,
This time the title track were the Beatles.

It ended with chilling peace between most countries,
And with Steve Jobs discovering his own Apple,
The one Bill Gates borrowed from him,
As they were having a cup of tea looking out his window,
The same year in which,
Mark Zuckerberg was born,
hereto later crown Trump,
And cause a karma-tic fissure in Great Britain.

These apples,
It cursed us,
It made us human,
It made us smile,
It made us frown,
It made us happy,
It made us sad,
It made some of us kill with ambition.

However,
No matter how much we fought our battles,
Deep down we still had emotion,
Emotion which we couldn't control,
Until we closed our eyes,
To join you in heaven,
Or hell with the fallen angel.

I just wanted to let you know,
That we survived!
Storm after storm,
Plague after plague,
War after War,
Invention after Invention,
Emotion after Emotion,
And we will continue to go on,
Just for us to further wash away the land,
We still walk on.

So maybe the next time the rain falls,
I'm praying that,
You could be a little more gentle,
Cause I'm tearing up,
Piece by piece,
Cause of this Apple which you cursed us all with,
Love,
Hatred,
Strength,
Weakness,
Humanity.
