Chapter 6: Should I take that as a compliment, an insult or a death threat?

I woke up to a very sore neck, a very stiff back and a very big surprise.

I jolted up from the headrest of the loveseat and earned myself a sudden shot of pain down the back of my neck. I groaned and suddenly realized something weighing down on my lap. I looked down and nearly died from a heart attack.

Chris freaking Hunter's head was on my lap.

I shrieked and flung it off like I was teeing off. His head would be the golfball in that case. It flopped up then tilted to the opposite side in an unhealthy angle as a result and he too was jolted awake from his sleep.

His eyes fluttered open and groaned, a hand running through his godly sexy bedhead. Dammit. Why did his sleepy groan have to sound so sexy too? Mine, compared to his, was the likes of a duck with a sore throat and cracking vocal chords.

"What time is it?" He jumped up and grabbed around for his phone. Isabelle and Morgan had somehow got entangled in their sleep, a jumble of limbs, fiery hair and the sound of snoring pigs.

"Shit", he breathed. I looked at his phone and my jaw dropped at the time. We had less than ten minutes to get ready for school. I rushed towards the other couch and pulled out an arm, and Isabelle rolled off the couch onto the floor, still snoring. Damn, that girl slept like a log. I proceeded to wake Morgan up, but Isabelle had a hand clamped onto Morgan's ankle and Morgan came crashing down onto Isabelle, squeezing the wind out of her. Then both of them woke up.

"Guys", I shouted, looking around for my phone as Chris headed for the shower. "We're late for school!" I found it lying under a cushion and grabbed it.

Without looking back I sprinted off to my room to shower and change as well. I burst into my bathroom, scrubbed my teeth, stripped off my clothes from yesterday and jumped into the shower.

After I was done, I hurriedly wrapped my towel around my wet body and when I stepped out of the shower, I was not expecting to see Chris, brushing his teeth at the bathroom sink in nothing but a pair of boxers. I shrieked and nearly threw my dirty bra at him.

"Chris!"

"What!?"

"I was in the damn shower!" I shouted, my face hot as a stove.

"And I was brushing my teeth", he said spitting in the sink, then taking my seldom-used can of expensive hair spray to style his hair.

I scowled and gave him a menacing look before stalking out of the bathroom into the walk-in closet to change. I took off the towel and went for the first pieces on the first clothes rack--a denim jacket over a white loose top and matching jeans shorts. Pulling up my hair into a messy ponytail without bothering to brush it, I grabbed my makeup bag from the vanity after deciding to do it on the way to school and slipped a pair of white sandals.

I bounded down the stairs and hopped into the back of Morgan's white Camry where Chris and Isabelle were also waiting and she zoomed off without a thought for speed limits.

We managed to arrive at school in one piece, no speeding tickets, no winged mascara or smeared lipstick and before the warning bell rang.

The girls and I parted ways in the hallway after grabbing our books from our lockers and I got to class just as the bell sounded and our teacher walked in.

"Okay class, hand up your homework on our topic yesterday." Mr Daley announced.

I dug around my bag numerous times and creased my eyebrows, looking for the sheet of homework. I swore I had put it in. My mouth went dry when I remembered I had forgotten to put it in my bag in the rush this morning and left it on my desk like the idiot I was.
