*Third Person*
Rain poured down onto the small house, bringing a peaceful state of mind to Louis; he was currently attempting to finish the fourth chapter in the book he had been working on for months. Writers block, he thought, was indeed a deadly disease. The young man had been living in this beautiful forest for several weeks now, and he did not regret moving here in the slightest. While he did miss his family, he enjoyed being away from civilization. A few miles down the road, however, there was a small quiet town where he went whenever he needed anything. It was just him and his cat, Dusty.
Louis sighed, looking to see that his cup of tea was now empty. He got up and went to the kitchen, bored of writing and getting no where. It was nearing 6 PM, so he decided he would need to start cooking some sort of meal for him, until there was a knock on his door. He looked over at Dusty, wondering if it would be rude not to answer, yet at the same time, afraid it was a serial killer. He shook away the thoughts and went to the door, taking a deep breath before opening it.
The man was slightly taller than Louis, with bleached blonde hair that desperately needed redone but he somehow managed to pull off. Louis figured they were around the same age, perhaps the man was slightly younger.
"Umm, hello? How can I help you?" Louis asked the man, unsure of what else to say to a stragner that shows up on your doorstep.
"Hey, I heard there was a new guy, so i decided to introduce myself. I'm Niall." The man- Niall- said cheerfully, and Louis took note of his heavy Irish accent. "Oh! And I brought pizza!" Louis' eyes drifted down towards the pizza in his hands, which, until now, had gone unnoticed by Louis. "I can go though, I know its not normal for someone to do this and all, I just heard you were alone and thought you could use some company." He stated when he noticed Louis' lack of a response, though a faint smile still remained on the blonde lad's face.
"Oh, umm.. It's alright, come in." Louis stuttered, opening the door for Niall. "I'm Louis by the way."
"Nice to meet ya, Louis" Niall greeted, shaking his hand after setting the pizza down on the small table.
"Pleasure." He chuckled at the boy's enthusiasm.
The pair sat in silence for quite some time enjoying the pizza -which, to Louis' luck, was not poisoned. The sun, by now, was starting to set. Louis' looked over to Dusty who was sound asleep on the top of his small couch.
"What's his name?" Niall asked, pulling the other out of his daydreaming.
"Oh, Dusty." He responded.
"That's a cute name. Not to be creepy, but can I asked why you moved out here all by yourself? Especially from England?"
"Yeah, I'm a writer and I'm trying to get this book done but I can't get anything done. I was hoping a change of scenery would help." Louis explained. "Why'd you move here from Ireland?"
"I actually moved here with a few of my mates a few years ago for, umm, business reasons." Niall hesitated, causing Louis only to nod in response. "I'll have to introduce you to them sometime."
"Yeah, that'd be nice." He nodded, thinking maybe it would be best to know a few people in this small town.
As the night continued, the pair continued to get to know each other, talking about their families and their interests. Louis learns that Niall and his friends are on a football team, and have known each other for nearly 10 years. They then moved on to talking about Louis' book, and previous ones he had written, none of which had been published however.
"I'd like to read them sometime if that's alright with you." Niall informed him, the smile that's been on his face all night never leaving. The dude was always smiling, and Louis secretly wondered if he was a psychopath.
"Sure, yeah, of course."
"Well, it's getting late, I should probably get going." Niall said, getting up from the table.
Louis then got up and took the dirty dishes to the kitchen, rinsing them off in the sink. When he finished, he went back over to Niall, who was putting his jacket on at the door.
"Thanks for coming over, it's nice to know someone. What's your number?" Louis said to Niall, who happily gave him his number.
"I'll see you around," He said, walking out into the storm, "Be careful out here all by yourself." His smile faltered for the first time since Louis had seen him, but once again appeared as he walked out to his car.
That was weird, Louis thought. Maybe he is a murderer.
He laughed, shaking his head as he went to take a shower before getting ready for bed.
Half an hour later, he was seated once again at his desk, attempting to get some work done. To his satisfaction, he was able to get a few paragraphs down, which was more progress then he's made in the past few weeks. After a while, when his tiredness overcame him, he went to get in bed. As he fell to sleep, he couldn't help but wonder what Niall had meant earlier, but eventually he gave into the sleep, letting all his worries fade away.
