*Louis POV*
I woke up to Dusty, who was meowing and walking all over me, asking for food. I groaned and rolled over, grabbing my phone. It was 12:04, and I had a text from Niall telling me to come over at 1. Great, I thought as I grabbed, putting on some jeans and a sweater before making my hair look somewhat decent.
Then after feeding Dusty, I quickly scarfed down a bowl of cereal. I looked at the time to see it was now 12:30. With only half an hour left, the nerves started kicking in. I'd never been good with meeting new people. It's a miracle I warmed up to Niall so quickly after just meeting him. Deciding it's better to be early rather than late, I got in my car and started driving towards Niall's house.
When I arrived at 12:45, I realized that the other boys must already be here, seeing as there was two extra cars parked in the driveway. I took a deep breath, trying to calm my mind, but then I remembered that I don't even know the boys' names. Shaking away the thought, I got out of the car and locked it, before walking up to the door and knocking. Right away Niall opened the door, the usual blinding smile covering his face.
"Hey Louis, come in." He stepped aside as I walked in and stood awkwardly, waiting for Niall's instruction. "They're in the kitchen, follow me."
I nodded and followed the blonde into the kitchen.
"Hey boys, this is Louis, Louis this is Liam and Harry." Niall introduced, and I managed a small smile.
"Nice to meet ya, I'm Liam." A man slightly taller than Niall, with brown hair in a quiff smiled, extending his hand.
"Hi." I said shyly, shaking his hand. Why am I so awkward? I wondered.
"And I'm Harry." I looked over to see a boy as tall as a giraffe. He had long curly hair and was wearing a very interesting jacket.
"That's a um cool jacket?" I attempted to compliment him, though it came out as more of a question.
"Thanks," He laughed, "Niall and Liam never seem to agree with my fashion choices."
"Well obviously, mate, you look like an idiot." Niall said.
"It's definitely something." I chuckled.
"So, Niall says you're a writer? How's that going?" Liam asked politely.
"Yeah, I am. I mean, writers block is a struggle, but it's getting better. I've been enjoying the quiet."
"Why do you live by yourself? It's probably not the best idea." Harry wondered, and I shrugged.
"Introvert. And I'm not by myself, actually, I have a cat." At this, the two boys' faces lit up with excitement and I couldn't help but laugh. "I suppose you'll have to meet him some time."
"That would be amazing." Liam agreed. "I get along real well with cats. Glad you don't have a dog."
I chuckled, "They're to much work."
"Finally, someone agrees with me! These boys are always trying to convince me to get a dog. I don't get what the big deal about them is, they're filthy creatures." (A/N: you'll understand later on, dogs are the best btw ;)).
"They're absolutely adorable Liam, you're just a monster!" Harry argued.
"Well Harry you shouldn't be speaking, remember how you feel about lizzards?" Niall taunted, and I was genuinely confused but enjoying the conversation none the less.
"Oh shut it, they're disgusting, scaly creatures. Puppies, on the other hand, are the exact opposites."
"So I take it that Liam hates puppies and Harry hates reptiles, does Niall hate any harmless animal?" I intervened, not knowing what the hell was going on.
"No, he just has a strange obsession with horses." Liam explained, causing me to laugh.
"It's not an obsession Liam, you know that." Niall retorted.
"Regardless, it's still strange. Anything you hate Louis?" Harry asked.
"Not anything that's real no."
"What about things that aren't real?" Liam wondered.
"Vampires freak me out." I laughed a little, only to see that none of the other boys were laughing. "You guys alright?"
"Oh, yeah we're fine. We just weren't expecting it I guess." Niall quickly responded, a smile reappearing on their faces.
"So no watching Twilight with you." Harry chuckled, causing Liam to elbow him in the side. "What was that for?"
"Fun." Liam smiled brightly, while Harry glared at him.
"So, who wants pizza?" Niall yelled out suddenly, which all of us obviously agreed to.

Quite some time later, we were all laid across Niall's living room eating the pizza and sodas that we had found in his cupboards. There was some random romantic comedy playing low on the TV but none of us were actually paying attention.
Liam, Niall and I were messing around on our phones, trying to drown out Harry's awful jokes.
"This one's funny, I promise!"
"Harold you've said that about the past five hundred jokes and none of them have been remotely close to making me laugh." Liam said, rolling his eyes.
"Please?" The boy drug out."
"Fine." I sighed.
"Knock knock."
"Who's there?"
"Nobel."
"Nobel who?"
"Nobel... that's why I knocked!" He exclaimed, laughing at his own horrible joke.
"And that was one of the worst." Niall said, a jokingly exasperated expression on his face.
"You guys are no fun." Harry mumbled, picking up his phone and joining the rest of us in our pleasant boredom. After another half hour the curly lad perked up again, saying "What do you call a can opener that doesn't work?"
"I don't know." We all said at once before laughing.
"A can't opener! Ba dam tss!" He practically yelled with excitement. What was with this boy and horrible jokes?
Almost as if he read my thoughts, Liam said, "No one can figure out why he's like this. The jokes are terrible. They never stop."
"And we have no clue how he gets them either, so there's no way to stop it." Niall said somberly, as if morning the loss of their sanity.
"I come up with them all, right here in this genius, handsome, brain of mine."
"How could your brain be handsome? Are you mad?" Liam wondered.
"For your information, I have the prettiest brain on the planet."
"Is this how all your conversations go?" I asked with a chuckle.
"Pretty much, yeah." Niall confirmed. "We're pretty idiotic most times."
"Excuse me? I am a highly intelligent specimen." Harry scoffed, dramatically flipping his hair.
"You keep telling yourself that, mate." Liam laughed, causing Niall and myself to join him while Harry made his way back into the kitchen to find more food.
