Dad introduced each child to us. The tall and lanky one was named Bertholdt Hoover. He was a shy boy who hid behind a buff blonde boy. The blonde boy's name was Reiner Braun. Then there was cold presence in the room. This girl caught Eren's attention and Mikasa's for a very self explanatory reason... Eren's talking to another girl. She was blonde petit girl named Annie Leonhardt. Armin had appeared to notice as well along with the two new people. Eren was too socially inept to realize it.
"So Reiner what does your family do?", asked Armin who try relieve the tension.
"Oh we are Braun black smiths, Bert over there sews clothing and, Annie's works for a martial arts dojo.", Reiner replied with gusto only to get slapped in the head by Annie.
"How about y'alls?", Bertholdt wimped out.
"Mine and Eren's dad is a doctor.", I said with flat tone.
"No kidding captain obvious.", Eren said only to be kicked in the balls.
Reiner recoiled almost as if he could feel the pain.
"I live with my grandfather who is florist.", Armin said sullenly.
"Sorry about that...how about you Mikasa?", Reiner asked with a reassuring smile.
Mikasa's eyes were stone cold and lifeless. Eren was going to say something until Mikasa spoke up and said, "My parents were murdered and the Jaeger's took me in. But before, that my dad was a hunter and my mom was a seamstress."
Mikasa then pulled her scarf up to her mouth.
Reiner was at a lost for words.
"I understand how you feel slightly. My parents abandoned me at a young age and my "new" parents took me in.", Annie said with giving a rare sympathetic look she never shows.
"Same situation but, with my grandpa.", Armin replied not trying to show up Annie.
"Why are y'all moving to shigashina?", Eren questioned unfazed by the sorrows before him.
"My mother is sick so I need to move in order to be closer to Dr. Jaeger.", Annie replied blankly.
"The markets are much larger down there so it's an economic gain on our end.", Reiner replied enthusiastically.
