Once upon a time, on an island far far away lived an ordinary boy living his ordinary life.
Eroda is a small island known mainly for their fish. They supply much of the seafood for larger areas, including The Kingdom.
In Eroda, you will often see nothing but frowns. The sun rarely shines, storms hit more often than they don't, and people have never been the kindest. No one enjoys living on the island, but they aren't accepted anywhere else, sadly.
There are very little opportunities in the small village. Growing up, men are forced to learn the ropes of how to properly fish and women grow up learning how to cook the fish. They keep things simple, and those who break the rules are executed by drowning.
The town meets together where the land meets the sea and tie up the malefactor. They fill up every pocket with many stones and lead the poor soul into the rapid waves, leaving him nowhere to go but into the deep waters.
Execution does not happen often in a town like Eroda simply because the townspeople have very little to do that will be considered breaking the rules.
And that's where this story begins: A boy tired of living an ordinary life leaving him no choice but to disobey. As much as everyone would love for the man himself to tell this life-changing fairytale, he has- well I can't tell you that part quite yet. That would ruin the whole story, but I promise he left it in the hands of someone who will tell it as well as they can, me.

Louis woke up to his alarm clock screeching from his bedside table. He slowly sat up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes, and slammed his hand down on the button that makes the clock quiet. While doing so he caught a glimpse of the time, noticing he had to be down at the docks in 45 minutes.
He groaned annoyingly and made his way out of bed. He stood in his bathroom, staring at himself in the mirror while waiting for his shower to heat up. He never found himself ugly, however he knew he wasn't as pleasant to the eye as others. He examined his mouth, the way it slightly sat upside down. Louis has never seen it otherwise.
After noticing the mirror beginning to fog up, he assumed his shower was to the temperature he preferred and made his way out of his uniformed pajamas. After taking one last glance at himself in the mirror, he traced the tattoo on his chest remembering when he got it.
He was 13 years old, living alone because his mother was executed and his dad passed away before he was born. He had no one to guide him or teach him the ropes of basic necessities, but he figured it out on his own. He has yet to find anyone to share his life with, but he is content. The moment you begin to love someone they get ripped from your hands. Or at least that's what the boy had learned from watching the other villagers.
Louis got in the shower and had no time to waste, so he quickly rinsed himself, hoping to not be late. He did not fish, but rather took care of the fish after being caught. His job was to package the fish that would travel to the surrounding countries including the biggest and most important: The Kingdom.
Louis has never been outside Eroda, let alone somewhere as extraordinary as The Kingdom. He can only imagine what kind of place it is. He wonders if their people are more accepting than those in his village.
The boy got out of the shower and wrapped a towel around his waist. After being dried off completely, he put on his clothes, did his hair, and brushed his teeth. He made his way out of his small apartment complex and grabbed the bike sitting outside.
In Eroda no one was allowed cars, and it has always been that way. All of the villagers either walk or bike. The council has deemed it unnecessary to drive from place to place considering the island was small enough to travel by foot.
