Keep the Flame Burning
Let the flame keep on burning;
As the wings on love is flying,
The man and woman kept on working,
As they pedal the wings to keep on moving.As the lady whispers to the love of her life,
Words that meant like a knife;
"One shall work harder than the other who have their flames withered.",
And with that, the man continued to pedal, but the woman stopped.He wondered why,
The love of his life left him by.
He was scared to face the truth,
But as the time have healed his wound,He met another lady,
Beautiful and as thoughtful as she was.
They then again worked,
Began pedalling, working, keeping the flame burning.But the truth was unfold,
The man learned the truth; it was overbearing.
He stopped pedalling and left the lady alone.
The pain she felt reached deep into her bone."She's better than I was," the lady cried awfully;
She knew in the first place she was not able to replace her fully.
The past have been dead for years, but little did he knew,
The scar was left open, and it cause to change a few.The lady was left alone, broke, empty;
She took off the wings of love, rode it alone, sadly
She began to pedal, it flew,
Farther than what she knew.At peace, she found love and serenity;
Love for herself, she gave herself another serendipity.
Keeping the flame burning is not for lovers alone,
It is also meant for one's self, for their individuality to be honed.
