"Dev sweetie, wanna come with me to see the new next door neighbors? I heard they got a little boy like you" Devin's mom asked her 7 year old.

"Can I bring my basketball mom!" Devin had his basketball in his hands.

"Sure, maybe you could teach him you're NBA skills" She laughed grabbing Devin's hand as they walked towards the neighbors house.

"Yeah!" Devin said loudly.

They got to the doorstep and Devin's mom knocked on the door. Devin stood there smiling, extremely excited to meet this new boy.

"Hello?" The woman smiling once she opened the door.

"Hello, we saw you guys have just moved in and we live right next door so we wanted to welcome you to the neighbourhood!" Devin's mom happily said.

"That's awfully sweet of you, thank you very much. Would you like to have some dinner with us later?" The woman asked.

"Oh we couldn't disturb you more, you've just moved in" Devin watched his mom say.

"No I insist. You've done nothing but nice so I have return the offer" The woman said.

"Alright then" Devin's mom said.

"Is this you're little boy right here?" The woman smiled over at Devin.

Devin returned the smile back as he kept a firm grip on his ball.

"Sure this, say hi Devin" Devin's mom squeezed his hand.

"Hi! I'm 7 years old and I love basketball!" Devin excitedly told her.

"Well it's nice to meet you Devin! You know, I also have an 7 year old boy that loves basketball too, would you like to meet him?" She asked Devin.

"Can I mom? Please?" He looked over at his mom and begged her.

"Of course Dev" she answered.

"His room is the first door on the right, go on ahead, he won't mind" The woman pointed up the stairs to her sons room.

"See you mom!" Devin blurted out then slightly ran up the stairs to see the first door on the right, just like the woman had said.

The door was closed so he didn't know what to do. His initial thought was to just go inside but then he realized it would be better to just knock. So he did.

Knock knock knock

"Yes mom?" The boy in the room said.

"Oh um, it's not your mom" Devin shyly said. He had no idea what to say.

The next thing he saw was the boy open the door. He stood there with a slightly confused face.

"Who are you?" He asked Devin.

"Uh, I'm your neighbor and my mommy came to talk to your mom and she said she had an 7 year old boy who loves basketball just like me" Devin very quickly said.
