Chapter Two
I waved a quick good-bye to Aly before heading to my locker to get my
stuff for the next class. When I reached my locker I found some guy
standing in front of it, furiously spinning the dial trying to open it.
"What are you doing?" I asked, putting myself in between the
guy and my locker.
"What does it look like I'm doing, I'm trying to open my
locker!" he practically yelled, running a hand through his tousled
blonde hair. I looked at the locker, then back at the guy.
"You do realize this isn't your locker, but mine right?" I
said, an amused smirk playing at my lips.
He looked at me confused for a moment before pulling a
crumpled peice of paper out of his pocket.
"Locker 2229," he read out loud, looking at his paper. I
pointed at the number on my locker.
"2228," I said, dragging out the word eight. He looked at
my locker number and then wearily at me.
"Oh," he said with a frown. I don't know why, but this caused
me to burst out laughing. When I finally calmed down, I saw him
scowling at me.
"Sorry, but you should have seem the look on your face," I
laughed, beaming up at him. He looked at me for a second before
smiling back at me.
Whoa, I thought as I took in his perfect white smile. I
realized I had been starring at him without saying anything for a while and flushed with embarassment.
He let a low, raspy laugh at that and scooted over to stand
in front of his locker.
"I'm Mason," he said with another breath taking smile.
"Aria," I answered sticking out my hand. He took it in his
and bent down to softly press his lips to the back of it. I felt
myself blush as he pulled back and smiled at me again, his blue grey
eyes twinkling. Well that was really weird and kinda creepy, I couldn't
help but think myself, but hey! He was hot.
"Nice to meet you Aria," he said, chills going down my
spine when he said my name. I managed to get out a weak, "You too," and a small smile.
He looked like he was about to say something else when the
late bell cut him off.
"Shoot!" I muttered, quickly putting my combo in and
grabbing my stuff. "See you around," I called to Mason over my
shoulder, already walking down the hall. He smiled and did a little
wave before walking the other way, not even opening his locker.
I jogged down the hall to English, opening the door to a
very annoyed Mrs. Pike.
"How nice of you to join us Ms. Peirce. Please take a seat," the
teacher said, annoyed. I quickly slipped into a desk near the back of
the room, throwing sheepish grins to a few of my friends.
"Where were you?" I heard a voice whisper next to me. I
turned to see my friend Jacey looking at me curiously.
"No where," I said with a grin before turning back to
the teacher.
She gave me a weird look before turning her attention
back to the front.
The rest of class went by boringly, though a big smile
sometimes made it's way to my face, causing me to get some "You must
be crazy," stares from the people around.
When the bell rang I made my way to the hall, Jacey
close on my heels.
"What was with those creepy grins back there?" Jacey asked when she caught up to me. I looked down and just shook my head. Honestly, I have no clue why that Mason guy had such an effect on me.
She gave me an annoyed look. "You will have to tell me eventually!" she yelled, walking away.
Her loudness made a few people around me look and stare with curious faces.
I ducked my head a little, letting my long brown hair fall to the sides blocking my blushing face from view. But, this caused my vision to be slightly blocked and I tripped, probally over my other foot, and ended up sprawled on the ground.
Everyone burst out laughing, some people even tearing up from laughing so hard. 'Somebody, please kill me now,' was all I could think as I just layed there, refusing to get up.
The late bell rang and everyone cleared the halls. I was about to get up when somebody stepped on my back.
"Oww!" I screeched and immediately shot up, causing me to collide heads with the person who had bent down to help me.
"I was just trying to help!" the person grumbled, rubbing his head.
"I'm so sorry!" I said holding out my hands unsure of what to do. The guy, who was quite good looking, I'd like to mention, took one look at my face and burst out laughing.
Well isn't he nice, I thought sarcasticly, sending a glare his way.
