The Beast and Her

CHAPTER 1

It was dark out as a girl stood alone on the balcony as she stood there with a plastic red cup in her hand half full of alcohol as she sighed and looked up at the full moon that was accompanied by the clouds as the sight was captivating to her.

The whole time she stood there she could do nothing but stare up at the sky as she put the cup down "I wonder how it feels to be up there alone, to be the only light in the Darkness but not as bright as the Sun" She sighed as she rested her head on the handle.

"Girl what are you doing in here all by yourself?" The girl turned around to see someone she knew as she grabbed her cup the handle off the balcony "I'm just looking up at the moon" The girl in front of her looked confused as she came closer in her Dark purple dress and black flats as her hair is wrapped up in a bun as her brown skin almost reflected perfectly from the moonlight.

"You gotta be some type of poet to be doing stuff like this, I've seen you around school always walking alone, I'm Diane but my friends call me D" She hinted at the girl to reveal her name as she debated it for a moment and smiled slightly.

"It's Ashanti, but my mom calls me-"

*HOWLS*

They both looked over the balcony and seen nothing as Ashanti was confused they both heard howling as her face looked even more confused 'Wolves? All the way out here?' Ashanti thought as the door behind them flew open as a group of boys was acting wild and uncontrollable.

"Hey D! Come on, we're gonna go hunting for that wolf" She looked concerned as she wanted to go stop him as she looked back at Ashanti "Do you mind coming with? I really hate dealing with idiots like him by myself" She grabbed her cup as she smiled as they went after them.

OUTSIDE

Everyone headed for the woods as Ashanti looked back at the balcony she was just at alone as she sighed 'Being up there looks a lot better now' She thought to herself as her and Diane walked with the boys through the woods.

After being in the dark for thirty minutes they all started to use their phones as flashlights as they took off running as Diane kept up but Ashanti couldn't as she tripped over a tree root.

She hurt her ankle as she tried standing then suddenly she heard a twig snap as she froze her breathing and movements completely, and just sat there looking down at the ground.

Her heart raced faster than ever as she stared down at the ground as tears slowly was about to prick her eyes as she slowly lifted her head away from her white T-Shirt and jean shorts as she was face to face with a beast.

It was huge it'd had to been three to four times her width and four times her height if not five as all she seen was rose red eyes with a few hints of gold, it was beautiful almost like staring at a gem.

The beast came closer as Ashanti didn't move as it she was able to see its black fur as the tips of its ears and tail was ash colored just like the paws as his stomach was the same way as it stared into her soul.

She didn't dare move as she didn't dare blink either as they locked eyes as it seemed like forever until she seen it's ears twitch as it looked to her right from the ground as she took a glance and saw Diane just now coming from around the corner as she seen the huge Wolf hover over Ashanti and was breathless.

Quickly and swiftly the beast growled snapped at her as Ashanti screamed and flared her hands in the air in a defensive manner to protect herself~ but nothing came as she opened her eyes to see that the beast was gone 'What...was that?' She thought as Diane ran up to her as fast as she could.

She inspected her for injuries as there were none as she looked up at her "I'm glad you're ok!" She hugged her as she started helping her out the woods while the whole time Ashanti could do nothing but think about the beast.
