Darling's pov

Today was the day Apple was coming over to tutor me. I had just gotten back from feeding my horse, Sir Gallopad, in the stables. Checking the time I realized Apple would get here in a couple minutes. I took a quick shower braiding my hair down my back. I slipped on my favorite yoga pants and EAH crewneck. Just after I pulled the crewneck over my head I heard a knock at the door. I nervously opened it and sharply inhaled. Apple was makeup free wearing leggings and a red tee shirt. I had never seen Apple without makeup before. She was a perfectionist, never a hair out of place. But seeing her like this was refreshing. She blushed under my gaze and I realized I'd been staring. I cleared my throat," Hey Apple, come in." I sat down on my bed. She took a look around and sat on the other end of my bed.

"I brought all my Princess in Training hextbooks." she said setting them down in between us, "what subject do you think is the hardest for you?"

"All of it." I said causing Apple to giggle.

"Well what about it do you think?"

" The whole damsel in distress thing really." I said truthfully. Her bright blue eyes met mine. "I just feel like it's so pointless. How do they expect us to just sit there and wait for some stupid prince to save us when we're all just as capable..." I realized I was rambling, " Sorry, I know that it's all just part of our stories I didn't mean to get all worked up about it."

"It's okay Darling," she said with a soft smile, her eyes were filled with an emotion that I couldn't quite identify, " But that's just how things are and we can't do anything about it" she sighed and broke our intense eye contact. The rest of the time was spent studying and making flash cards.

"oh my!" Apple said suddenly, " I didn't realize what time it was. I'm sorry Darling I have to go get ready to go to the TeaShoppe with Briar and Ashlyn."

Time was up already. I didn't want her to leave. Being with her was intoxicating. Breathing in her cinnamon scent and her accidentally leaning in just a little too close when she laughed. But she wasn't mine, and she didn't even know about the kiss. My cheeks immediately flushed red at the thought of our lips touching.

"Yes of course," I said getting up and walking her to the door," Thank you so much for the help today"

"Why of course, just text me when you want to meet up next." she said. Apple paused for a moment and then to my surprise she wrapped her arms around me in a hug. After a second I hugged her back. My mind filled with cinnamon. "It was really nice hanging out with you Darling. I know everything has been weird lately and you've been acting kind of distant but I really do love hanging out with you."

"I missed you a lot too Apple, I'm sorry I've been acting distant it's just..." I paused. what was I going to say? Oh yeah Apple it's just been weird because I was actually the one to wake you up, not daring which actually means i'm your destiny. Yeah no.

"It's okay," Apple sighed, "I just want to know why everyone's been treating me different."

I gulped, "Apple... there's something you need to know. Meet me at the stables after your tea." She nodded i'm agreeable as she made her way out of my dorm and slipped around the corner out of sight.
