Apple's Pov

Darling had told me to meet her at the stables at 9 O'clock. The temperature had dropped drastically. I shivered and pulled my jacket tighter around me. I had known something was different ever since I had woken up from my enchanted sleep. The only thing I knew for sure was that Daring wasn't the one to wake me up. I had picked that up from all the rumors floating around, plus it wasn't like he didn't make it obvious. Ever since that day he had avoided me like the plague. I know it should've bothered me more than it did, but if I'm being honest I was relieved when I found out he wasn't supposed to be my Prince Charming. I love Daring but our whole relationship had always just felt like a friendship. Our whole life was always just planned for us from the moment we met.

*flashback*

Today was my eighth birthday. My mother stood behind me curling my blonde hair into tight curls. "Today is a very special day, you know that Apple?" My mother said.

"Yes of course it is!" I beamed, "today is my birthday."

"Yes it is Apple, but today you will also be meeting someone very special. Your Prince Charming!" I met my mothers eyes in the mirror. Yuck! Boys. But instead I nodded my head in fake excitement.

There was a loud knock on the door. My mother quickly finished my hair and tightened the bow on my dress. As we walked downstairs we met my father in the main hallway and opened the door to the family of five. The Charmings. I laid my eyes on a boy with glasses, his crown slightly tilted as he frantically typed away on his gameplayer. I looked over next to him to see a blonde boy with a bright smile. I thought he was also holding a game player, but after looking more closely I realized he was holding a hand mirror. I scanned over them quickly when I noticed the Charming's daughter. She looked like she was about to topple over in her heels. She had the blondest hair, almost white with streaks of pale blue. The top part of her hair was pulled back. Her eyes were a striking pale blue that matched her hair and dress. Right under her left eye was a tiny beauty mark.

"This is my daughter Darling," King Charming said interrupting my thoughts. Darling looked like she was about to bow but quickly caught herself and curtseyed instead. "And this is my son Dexter," The brown eyed boy looked up from his game and gave my a slight smile before returning to his game. "And this is my son Daring," He pushed Daring in front of the rest of them. " Your future Prince Charming." He tucked his hand mirror into his pocket and bowed, flashing me a smile.

The rest of the night was spent with my parents forcing me and Daring to hangout. But the whole time I just couldn't keep my eyes off the youngest Charming.

*End of flashback*

I had reached the stables, early as always. As I stepped inside I saw Darling petting her horse, Sir Gallopad. I walked towards her catching her by surprise as she jumped a little.

"Apple you scared me," Darling squeaked.

"Sorry Darling I didnt meant to." I said letting out a laugh. Her lips turned up at the corners, but it quickly fell as she sighed.

"I guess I owe you the truth," she said nervously biting her lips drawing my attention to them. She had the most attractive plump pink lips. Snap out of it. It wasn't normal to think about girls like that I reminded myself. "Let's sit down." She said leading me over to the bench.

"Ok so um," she tripped over her words. I put my hand on her arm to comfort her. A blush painted her cheeks. "Well you already know Daring isn't your Prince Charming."

"Yes I gathered that from the rumors going around and with the way he's been treating me." I said, "I just don't know who or what it was that did wake me up."

"Yeah so about that," she averted her gaze and looked up at the sky. I leaned back looking up with her. It was a full moon tonight. "Daring tried twice to wake you up, but his kisses didn't work. I don't know if you remember this but while you were under you woke up for a second then stopped breathing. When that happened I rushed over and tried to give you cpr." My eyes snapped back to her. "The moment our lips touched a pink cloud surrounded us and you woke up." This time she met my eyes. My mind was spiraling. I knew Daring wasn't my prince... but a girl? And Darling at that. It wasn't like me and Darling were even that close. We only saw each other when our mothers forced us together.

" But.. that would make us... no I'm not.." I choked on my words. It wasn't like I hadn't already disappointed my mom enough. Hair as black as ebony. Everyone thought the blonde hair would go away once I grew up but when it darkened people started to talk. As if that wasn't bad enough, now this? Girls don't like girls. Princesses don't marry princesses.

Darling's face was unreadable. " I- I gotta go." I said standing up from the bench and running back to my dorm tears streaming down my face.

Hello whoever reads this. I know that the writing in this isn't the best but it's my first time writing here and it's been getting me through this quarentine. I have been obsessed and I mean OBSESSED with Dappling. It's so unfair that we were robbed from finding out how their stories ended. So this is kind of my take on it. Love you all!!
