All is Found-Evan Rachel Wood, Frozen II
Sweden-Berwald Oxenstierna
Reader POV
I was reading in my bed, next to my husband of six years, Berwald, when I heard the little pitter-patter of soft footsteps coming down the hall. I groaned as I looked over at Ber, knowing all to well who it was. I turned onto my side, facing him as I slid myself under the covers. Berwald cracked a smile.
"You can deal with them tonight dear." He pulls the covers back and I meet his gaze.
"Thr'e. Tw'. One." (Three. Two. One.)
I let out an oof as I am jumped on by two tiny bodies. "Please don't do that again." I lecture my children as I cuddle up to their father. "My back has really been hurting me lately, and I'm sure you don't want to break your mom's back!" Axel and Nova quickly get off of the bed, not wanting to 'hurt' me any longer.
Berwald glances over to the two. "Wh' are y'u in h're?". (Why are you here?)
Axel answers for the both of them, blue eyes shining with tears. His lower lip trembles as he starts to talk. "We had nightmares." he explains, as Nova attempts to hoist herself up on the bed. Nova is two, and has beautiful H/C locks. On some nights, like tonight, her short hair sticks out in little tufts all over her head, making it look like she has an afro. Axel is four, and is almost a carbon copy of Berwald, which is kind of scary.
Nova successfully get up on the bed and curls herself into me before she starts whimpering. Axel moves over to Ber's side and climbs over his papa like a jungle gym before settling himself on Berwald's chest.
My husband puts down his book, and hugs his son back, me doing the same to Nova. He lifts up the covers, allowing Nova and Axel to get under and cuddle closer to us. I shift up farther, and lean back against the headboard. "Oh sweets, it's just a nightmare. It's okay baby, papa and I are right here" I cooed softly, petting Nova's hair.
Berwald rubs Axels back for a bit, then moves him to in between Ber and I. I wrap an arm around Axel, and kiss his forehead. "Älsking, y'u sh'uld s'ng." (Älsking, you should sing.). I look over at him, and Ber nods his head.
I look a Nova, then Axel. "Should I sing? Would you like that sweetheart?". Nova whispers a small yes, and Axel nods his head. I resume petting Novas head. "What should I sing? Ber?".
"H'w 'bout th' one y'u us'ed to s'ng for Em'l?" (How about the one you used to sing for Emil?). Berwald looks over at me with a small smile on his face. I nod.
"Let me think about how it goes for a minute". I hum what I think the melody is for a minute. "Okay, I've got it!". Berwald moves me so that I'm sitting in between his legs, with both of the children in my lap. I settle back against my husband's warm and well built chest, as I softly begin to sing:
Where the North wind meets the sea
There's a river full of memory
Sleep, my darling safe and sound
For in this river all is found
In her waters, deep and true
Lay the answers, and a path for you
Dive down deep into her sound
But not to far or you'll be drowned
I smiled softly at my children, who had closed their eyes, breathing slowed to signal sleep. I burrowed closer to Berwald, who grabbed my hand and laced his fingers with mine. I took a breath and continued.
Yes, she will sing to those who hear
And in her song, all magic flows
But can you brave what you most fear?
Can you face what the river knows?
Where the North wind meets the sea
There's a mother full of memory
Come, my darling, homeward bound
When all is lost, then all is found
Berwald kissed my hand, and shifted Axel into his arms. "L'ets g't th'm to b'd" (Let's get them to bed). I smiled over at him.
"Okay Ber". I carefully picked myself up off the bed, then turned around and picked up Nova, striding through the doorway and out into the hall. I slipped down the hallway, my feet echoing softly on the carpet of the hallway, as I reached Axel and Nova's room. Berwald was already in there, pulling the covers over Axel's body. Gently I laid Nova down in her crib, tucking her blanket around her, and pressing a light kiss to her forehead, before crossing the room and doing the same to Axel.
I walked over to my husband, who was standing in the doorway, with a small smile across his face. I buried my face in his chest, and wrapped my arms around his waist. Ber started to rub my back with comforting hands. "Y'u sa'd y'u've b'en having b'ck pa'ns?" (You've been having back pains?).
I nuzzled my face farther into his chest. "How would you feel about another one?", I asked, moving his hands to my stomach. I looked up to see Ber looking down at me, his expression stoney. I looked down again only to have my chin moved up before a pair of lips smashed down onto mine. Startled, I kissed back.
"Jag älskar dig".
"Jag älskar dig också". I reply softly, as I lean into his chest.
