"If I'm right, they would come through here. Jihoon crossed the river to seek sanctuary on our lands; we could have more crossing." Yoongi's voice was low, both wolves lingering just beyond the tree line. It had been a good number of days since their arrival, parting ways with Namjoon as he head off to seek out the secluded village.

Jeongguk was a bit frustrated, but he didn't let it affect his focus, sharp eyes noting every detail that his surroundings had to offer. Yoongi wasn't wrong, despite the water washing away scents of passing wolves, it was still present among the brush and the rest of their surroundings. It wasn't hard to miss and considering how much of it was lingering, it seemed that wolves have recently been crossing.

"Wish we could go over there and see for ourselves what all is happening." Jeongguk breathed, rubbing his eyes as he stifled a yawn. Even during everything currently happening, the alpha still had it in him to think about Jimin and wondering when his luck would change. Namjoon had promised to seek him out in order report his findings and he couldn't contain the itch in his bones, as if his wolf was begging for Jeongguk to seek out the village.

It astounded him, how strong he felt for the omega, his wolf fully captivated, matching with Jeongguk's affections towards his first and only love. Maybe it wasn't the appropriate time to really be rolling around in such thoughts, but it was something he didn't have full control over. Even now, with potential danger hovering on the other side of the river, Jimin trickled into his mind like a gentle rain.

"Jeongguk." Yoongi's voice was suddenly sharp and alert, and the younger alpha didn't have to ask his brother, since he already saw what it was the other wolf had noticed.

He heard it before he could even attempt in capturing the scent.

Across the river, just a few feet away from where Jeongguk and Yoongi had been positioned, both Grand Wolves stood eerily still upon noticing the movement of brush. It wasn't hard to make out the shifting shadows, keen eyes taking in the silhouettes just beyond the cover of the trees.

"I'll go on ahead." Yoongi growled, already stepping out of his bottoms, removing each piece of cover before melting into the brush, most likely shifting into his natural form. Jeongguk wanted to join him, but he knew the importance of scouting and spreading out in case of an eventual attack. Standing his ground, Jeongguk was ready to aid his brother should he need it, but at the same time, he couldn't help but think about some possibilities.

The omega, Jihoon, escaped the Southern Territories; something told Jeongguk that other wolves were seeking the same goal.

For a moment, everything grew tremendously quiet, the only sound he could hear was his own breathing, dark eyes lingering heavily on the other side of the river, still gazing at what was happening on the other side.

Jeongguk waited, jaw clenched as he silently urged whoever was on the other side, to step out of their cover. The alpha needed answers to his current questions and this was as close as he was going to get unless he acted.

He would have waited for Yoongi's signal, had his eyes not picked up on the first wolf that stepped out into the open.

The alpha didn't need to get close enough to know what kind of wolf he was looking at.

Holding his breath, he watched as a Grand Wolf made its way to the edge of the water, seeming tense and cautious, but Jeongguk knew it was unaware of their presence. The wolf was an alpha, its fur a deep color of brown; it was smaller than Jeongguk, so the alpha could only assume that the other was still young. Recently presented.

That could only mean one thing and Jeongguk didn't like the revelation that a Grand Wolf was just at the edge of their border, making the alpha bristle at the potential threat.
